What is the wish in Haruki Murakami's Birthday Girl?
I believe that her wish was never to have wishes again :) It fits perfectly - she was so miserable at that time of her life, wished for so many things, and not being able to make these wishes true, she only suffered more. So, she wished never to wish for a single thing again, never to feel the absence of something in her life.
Up to that moment, everything is OK, she managed to create a familly, raise children, without the turmoil of missing something in her life, but only time will tell if her wish really came true in the end.
It was so obvious for me the first time I read the story :) The true wish actually is why I love that story so much and reread it every year on my birthday :)
Or the girl wished to become a different person.

Ok to build an island.
Go to Michaels or Joanns..or whatever arts and craft store you have:
1. get some sand
2. perhaps some blue pebbles and different small rocks
3. get those little fake trees. OR TO BE CREATIVE you can get a fake tree reef thing and cut out little parts of that and use that as trees.
4. you can use blue pebbles as water, or u can get some of that blue shiny paper thing. sry..i don't know what its called.
5. to make a compass rose you can cut out the arrows out of felt, you can use sticks, or just construction paper. you can print one out from online and color it. whatever looks cool.
i don't know what ur theme is from ur island so...that's a bit difficult for me to think of things.
6. you can get small little plastic people. like a surf board guy and a in a or something.
7. you can also get some boats. you can make it yourself out of clay. the clay that u can put in the oven so it stays like the creation that u made. or u can just buy some small wooden boats. get wooden boats because that way u can be more creative on making the island by painting on ur own colors.
that's all i can think of. SORRY AND HAVE FUN!!=)
Can you make a pyramid out of clay?
Make triangles (same length on all 3 sides), make 4 triangles and attach them, If you use paper, cardboard, or posterboard, you can lay them flat on a table and butt edges together, you will use 3 strips of tape to attach all 4 triangles, raise shape up to a pyramid form and tape last 2 edges together and there you have a pyramid. For a pyramid constructed of wood, the principal is the same, assembling is some what different, stand 2 triangles up in the shape of half of a pyramid, apply glue to hold the 2 triangles together then tape to hold the 2 glue edges together, glue the next triangles together the same way. now you should have 2 pyramid halfs, put glue on the last 2 edges and tape to hold until glue dries. this gives you a very sturdy pyramid. you might want to put something over this form, examples: home centers have many different styles of tiles, small stones on meshed back, these can be removed very easily and glued on your pyramid for a realistic look.
(for paddle Popsicle sticks, stagger the sticks so they fit together better, using poster board and glue to hold them together, then cut them into your triangle shape.)
Make 4 equal triangles and tape or glue edges together in a upright position, if gluing, glue edges together and then tape,(glue is for stock thicker than 1/8"), card stock, card board, poster board, tape is just fine. Good Luck have fun doin this because i know that i did????????
