Edwin Binney had created this "black crayon" in a sense. It was called Stayonal = "Stay on all" and they used to mark boxes for shipping. It sold so well with other companies that they had the idea to test more with the product.

At the time they also had made a new type of slate school pencil and when at the schools they noticed that the kids needed something to color with. So they took the idea of Stayonal (made of wax) and made it smaller, less toxic, and changed the pigment color.

Affirmative Action Groups have sued Banks for having too high credit standards which directly effect minorities ability to obtain loans. Obama sued banks for this back in the 90's before he ran for public office.

Banks have a tendency to settle these suits because they believe they can never win a Jury case in a predominately minority community. They believe they are viewed as the big bad evil rich corporation taking advantage of the little guy. So the banks have settled most cases and lowed their credit criteria in order accommodating the the less credit worthy without compensating with higher rates for the higher risk.

The idea here is that the banks lowered their credit standards in order to accommodate Affirmative Action . Keep in mind that no intentional discrimination has to occur. Only the stats have to show that there is an inequality in loans given in order for fines to be imposed.

Banks then packaged these loans together and sold them to other banks or Freddy and Fannie. So through regulations and and enforcement by the government the business sector gave loans to people who wouldn't have previously qualified for a loan.

Eventually, there were so many sold that everyone wanted a house and everyone got a house. Because of the high demand house values soared along with construction to build more houses because of increased profit in a new home. It then all of a sudden came to a stand still. Credit dried up so construction stopped causing even more foreclosures. When the construction stopped so did everything that supported it. Towns that relying heavily on construction were devastated.

It is not over yet. I have watched many small businesses that have survived the house collapse are at risk of going out of business. Property that they bought a t the peak, has tanked in value. So their mortgages, are upside down as compared to the current property values. Most business mortgage's are 5-10 year mortgages amortized over 20 to 30 years. Many of these business mortgages are up for renewal and banks don't want to renewal an upside down loan because it looks bad on their statements. Most small business don't have the cash to pay down that mortgage and are filing bankruptcy and closing shop.

I am told Bush warned Congress of these issues with Fannie and Freddy before it happen. I have checked this information.

I am uncertain how much the affirmative action contributed to the credit and housing bubble. I am certain it can not be let off the hook as a contributing factor.

Edwin Binney and Harold Smith were the men responsible of the creation of the first crayolas under their Binney & Smith company which was founded back in 1885. A puppet show is a creative and fun way to engage children (and adults) and to allow for expression of thoughts.

Supplies can run from the absolute most simplistic - a sock! Yes, just a single ordinary sock can be the start to puppeteering. Children can sit beneath a table and allow their puppet sock to share its message at the table top.

Allow them to create imaginative backdrops which can be made from flat cardboard pieces, or they can be creatively cut in any design to represent castles, caves, or anything which inspires the child.

An alternative to the sock-puppet is the card-puppet. Cutting out cards in various shapes and characters, such as a crescent moon, a scary troll, or a princess, is the first step, Take the completed card characters and tape them either to a long pencil, to use as a handle, or anything long enough to hold up above the table.

If you wanted to make a puppet from dolls, tying string to the puppets hands and feet for movement, this is easily accomplished by sewing the string length onto the hands and feet of the doll, and a strong to hold the head up. Using ice lolly sticks (popsicle sticks), glue two sticks into an 'X' position. Staple the string ends to the end of each stick and manipulate the dolls movement by moving the sticks in different directions.

This depends on what you mean by 'bunraku'. The traditional bunraku puppet made only by the Japanese is somewhat of an insider's secret. There are no books, patterns or tutorials online that you can use to make them; they simply do not exist as far as I know. At any rate, a traditional one is way too complicated for new puppet makers or school-aged people.

However, many people confuse the term 'bunraku' with the more Westernised table-top puppet (which uses similar concepts as bunraku and is almost the 'child' of bunraku in a way), and there are plenty of table-top tutorials and patterns out there. (Bunraku is the official name for 'ningyo joruri', the Japanese puppetry - only those who have permission may use the term 'bunraku' in Japan)
