What are some moves in hockey?

when you say moves what exactly are you talking about. i assume you are talking about offensive maneuvers around a single defenseman. unlike most sports, hockey is unique in that there are no real set moves, or plays. the game flows thorugh a collection of systems and schemes, and the talent of the players transfers that into success. there is no such thing as a set play in ice hockey.

offensive moves while on a breakaway are the only "moves" i can think of that might have a name.

deke - moving the puck quickly from one side to the other, then back again in an attempt to make the goalie commit to one side of the net.

toe drag - using the toe (tip) of the stick to pull the puck back into your stance. same idea as a deke but its more of a north / south move, compared to the east / west deke.

besides those two i really cant think of any other moves that would have names. perhaps you could clairify your question a bit.

Dance steps of itik itik?

The Filipino traditional itik-itik dance is performed in a three quarters rhythm: 1 2 3 / 1 2 3. A dancer begins by stepping out with the heel of one foot while taking two small steps toward the starting foot. The footwork is very choppy and repetitive. Each step lies on a beat. The dancer must push out her hips opposite from her starting point on count 1 and bring it back to center for counts 2 and 3. The arms are extended with one arm above shoulder level and the other below shoulder level. The arms flap to shoulder level ticking on every count. There is an obvious tilt in the head towards one shoulder on count 1. The dancer can also sway a waltz step while extending her arms from side to side with fluttering fingers. Itik-itik is performed as an exciting imitation of ducklings.

History of dugso dance?

Dugso - a Manobo dance of thanksgiving and invocation for continuous protection, dancers make heavy footwork's on the grounds, to implore the gods of Talaandig's blessings and guidance. Dugso (meaning 'dance') is a ceremonial dance among the Manobo people in Bukidnon, Agusan and Misamis Oriental . The Dugso (also Dugsu) is usually performed during important occasions like kaliga (feasts) or kaamulan (tribal gatherings). Other occasions that call for the performance of Dugso are festivities connected to abundant harvest, the birth of a male heir or victory in war. Brandeis however, claimed that the dugso has no specific occasion underpinning aside from that of the kaliga-on festivities. He said that it is only performed to "entertain their deities". The Dugso for a kaliga is usually performed on the third day which is usually the merriest being the culmination of the whole celebrations.

Why do kappa alpha psi have canes?

It's a symbol of Christ first name Jesus his j stand the

reason behind the canes. The Cane is also a memorial symbol

for the last surviving founder who use to walk with a cane.

Th above answer, while very nice, is inaccurate. That is the reason for the candy cane and not the Kappa cane. The Kappa cane is directly related to helping the women of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. When SGR was established in Indiana at Butler, it was still a time of great racial strife and bigotry against minorities. SGR was comprised of professional women in education. The notion that these black women had the audacity to try and establish a greek letter organization really stuck in the craw of some of the more ignorant members of the community around Butler. The SGR founders were sometimes threatened with physical violence if they continued to pursue the dream of establishing their sisterhood. The nearby Kappas took it upon themselves to be real gentlemen and escort these ladies to class to deter any further assaults on the ladies. As black men in what is essentially a southern small town, they could not obviously carry weapons. However, a true gentleman always carries his walking stick. It was quite handy for strolling the campus with a lady on your arm, swatting away dogs or useful as a deterrent if need be. The Kappas let those in opposition to SGR's establishment know that they would brook no nonsense when it came to the safety of these ladies. It became a regular sight to see Kappas with their canes. It still holds true today.

What can a choreographer do before rehearsals to make them effective?

Go through the dance again and again so it is perfect, using a video camera to look back on and improve any areas of weakness is a good idea also. A good warm up is the best idea before any type of rehearsal.

Paper and pen notes (or in some cases, laptop notes) can really focus what you want to work on in a rehearsal. Jot down some notes on areas in the dance you think would cause your dancers trouble, places in the piece you want to emphasize or highlight, and also think about your individual dancers' styles, and how best to use them in your work. Mental preparation beforehand really makes that rehearsal move. I am thinking of all the notes Merce Cunningham used to take while choreographing.

In my experience, the very BEST thing you can do is make sure you have called all your dancers ahead of time before the first rehearsal, to be sure they remember to come! Unless you are an NYCB or MTV choreographer (sometimes even then!), you will usually have the late or forgetful dancer or two in your group. This can really hinder your rehearsal, so call and be a bit of a pain to make sure they come.
