How long does it take to die when you inhale helium?

If you just inhaled a bit from a party balloon you would not die, though there have been cases of people becoming unconscious.

People have died from trying to inhale helium directly from a helium gas cylinder. They died because the pressure of the gas punctured their lungs and the surrounding blood vessels, and they drowned in their own blood. CPR is no use in this case. This would have happened with any gas, even a cylinder of oxygen. It was the intense pressure that did the damage, not the gas.

People died who crawled up inside a helium filled balloon. Helium is not poisonous, but they died from lack of oxygen. Air has a normal load of 21% oxygen, which is enough to keep us living. In that case, they were breathing helium with no oxygen, and they would suffer a sudden and immediate lowering of the oxygen levels in their blood. They would lose consciousness as they were trying to grab a second breath. If they continue to breathe the pure helium they would die in a few minutes from hypoxia (lack of oxygen).

How can we stop death?

Almighty Allah has created every thing in the universe. We believe on Paradise & life after death. First we need to find the main causes of death. In other words we need to define the death. What is death? There are different diseases which causes death. The reason is that Allah made the death the part of life & every body has to die after some time. But the time will come when all we will have dooms day & at that time every body will be alive again. As we find treatment to minimize the death by curing different diseases. We need to consult Allah in order to find the solution for this problem. The present time has shown different indications for dooms day but still there are something which has to be happened before the dooms day will occur. We can minimize the death tolls by curing different diseases & by getting more & more knowledge about each & every thing which is created by Allah. The modern science will help us to minimize death tolls. I can give you as an example of road accidents that occurred in Pakistan because of illiteracy. The people who drives on road have no sense. They never take training but get licence by giving bribe. People get certificates & degrees by paying money not after getting education. In my opinion we need to set up Educational Banks all over the world & education can minimize the death tolls & average life expectancy may be increased by getting more & more education. We don't bother about education & we don't have awareness that is the main cause beside the reason the reason that Allah has made it necessary for every one to die. But I am sure we can save every thing by promoting education to all parts of the world.

Why people don't live forever?

Human beings have parts that wear out. Some say that every day a person lives, starting at birth, is one day closer to their death--and it's true. By the time a person reaches 40-50 years old, some parts begin to show wear and tear. We have: achy bones; sore muscles; trouble digesting foods; gallbladders don't function as well; our vision and hearing declines; even our skin starts to get drier and less elastic. By the time people are 50-60 years old, most are taking 5 or more medications.

When you are fifty are you old?

Age is subjective and can be defined in different ways. Some may consider fifty to be middle-aged while others may consider it to be older. It ultimately depends on individual perspectives and experiences.

I guess it's the same as everywhere in the world. When someone dies in Germany, he or she is .. well .. dead.
