He easily falls for such technology that makes sounds and has a screen and buttons but when I actually buy an "educational" aid like that, it irritates him after just a few days. He is much happier and successful in the old-fashioned way of having a book, his eyes and his brain - and maybe myself to study and play with him. It is similar with architects and designers: if they started learning their profession with just a pen and a piece of paper and their brains, they turn out higly professional while those who tried to become creative and knowledgable through computers only tend to only repeat what the computer program was able to do for them. In my experience, the majority of people who buy laptop computers end up with the computer sitting on a desk, plugged into a full size monitor, which is where it stays most of the time. The only people who really use laptop computers as mobile, portable computers seem to be business people who travel a great deal. As far as the Sony Vaio is concerned, I would be more inclined to buy a laptop from either Hewlett-Packard, or Apple. I consider Sony to be an excellent name in consumer electronics, but that does not include computers. Compare battery life, hard disc size, processor speed, RAM capacity, and monitor clarity and brightness first when shopping for laptops.

They are both equally good just depends on your preference. I would say the lower end hps are better then the lower end dells, and the higher ends are pretty good for both.

You can't, unfortunately. You have to order the whole power supply strap. Wish they'd sell them separately. I keep snapping mine off or losing them and having to go buy another one...I have 6 perfectly good rubber straps now!
