The first thing you should do is talk about it with your counselor and those who form your support system, whether family or friends. There are a lot of reasons why depression can become more severe, and your counselor will be able to address these reasons with you. Good luck!!

Well there is multiple personality disorder, which is when the person has multiple personalities obviously. They go into what they call their alters, so they have different personalities which they name. They actually seem like a different person, their is proof that when one is in their alter, they can have different hand writing and even different eye vision then in their original self.

But there is also schizophrenia which is more like being delusional and far from reality, they don't have split personalities, they just go into a different world basically. Since people are not born with these disorders, researchers suspect that these are triggered by a traumatic event. For example a death of their child or sometimes when one is severely abused. I'm not saying anyone whose child has died or have been abused is going to get a mental disorder.

So lets say someone was abused repeatedly for a long time, their brain can basically create another person to take the pain of their abuse and this is multiple personality disorder pretty much.

So the illness would be multiple personality disorder and the symptoms would be the split personalities.

That is an issue that you should discuss with your mental health professional. On the face of it, it would seem a very bad idea. Daycare workers need to be able to handle all sorts of frustrating issues, day after day, and be kind and patient while doing it. Folks who are bipolar often have difficulty with precisely those things. Question: have you been diagnosed as bipolar by a mental health professional, or just your family physician? If you have not seen a professional, you probably ought to do so. There may be treatment options that you are missing. Since you speak of daycare, I'm inferring that there might be money problems. Contact your local mental health association for options.

PS: Bipolar disorder cannot be accurately diagnosed by laymen. There are too many other things, like the effects of alcohol and drugs (legal and otherwise), that can confuse the issue.

Hi Ana- Welcome to the world of BPD. I can't answer for you, but i can offer advice. When my husband and i would fight, if the police had to show up or the neighbors had to break it up, he always answered the same way. "Don't believe her, she'll tell you what you want to hear, not the truth!" thus, nobody beieved me. and it sucked. somehow you need to let your neighbors know what BPD is, and help them understand when you need help. I actually had code words that i would yell, and that's how my neighbors knew something serious was going down. So- i hope this helps, and i will pray for you.
