Logically, I don't think you can cook mackerel in a dishwasher as I would have thought you would only have been able to wash it at the very least.

How do you drain a dishwasher that stopped in the wash cycle?

Firstly try switching it off then on again and it should empty. If it does not then the likelyhood is that water has leaked into the 'sump' (the base of the machine where there is a float switch which cuts operation for safety.) Either tilt the machine backwards / forwards about 45 degrees - some small volume of water should escape - or remove the side panel and 'mop' it out. In either event, switch off the electricity first ! - Good luck

How do you get stagnit water smell out of a dishwasher?

I have used regular powdered Tang (the NASA orange drink) to both clean and freshen dishwashers. I am a REALTOR and have helped many "sellers" make their dishwasher like new. The white plastic tubs can get really stained with hard water...even to a dark brown and the build up smells. For a mild problem, you only have to fill the two cups in the door and run a regular cylcle in empty dishwasher. For a particularly bad case, I've used an entire canister with perfect results after one try. I guess it's the citric acid...but, I had someone try with Countrytime Lemonade mix, since they had it on hand with less successful results. Good luck!

An in home dishwasher is normally connected directly to the hot water supply. The water temperature set on the hot water heater will be the same as the water temperature in the dishwasher. If it is a new dishwater, there is a gov't restriction on the heating element that stops it from heating the water and drying the dishes.

If anyone knows how to override this, please advise.

Dishwasher safe symbol?

I don't think that there is such a thing, universally recognised, as a "dishwasher safe" symbol. People often confuse the Glass and Fork symbol, which simply means that the item is safe for food contact. It is high time that products carried a simple, universal range of symbols which indicate their suitability for microwaves, ovens, dishwashers etc. It would make our lives much easier.

Is a dishwasher a conductor?

A dishwasher is an electrical machine which contains conductors, which conduct the electricity into the motor and the heater.
