Osteopathic Medicine is practiced by Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a philosophy of treating people, not just symptoms or diseases. This has sometimes been referred to as Holistic Medicine, meaning treatment of the whole person, with regard to their bodies and symptoms (just like Doctors of Medicine (MD)), and also with regard to their home, jobs, and environment to make a full assessment of their health and wellness.

Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine take additional courses on diagnosing musculoskeletal dysfunctions in their patients on top of the same types of classes that MDs take, and they are trained to use some forms of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) that is not taught to MDs.

I am the 3rd most revered radiologist in the world. In undergrad I was a pottery major with a ancient world history minor, and I went on to Berkley to study Theramin after that. My only background in radiology is a radio operations class I took at WHUS, a radio station in Storrs, CT. A monkey could be a radiologist.

Well, in my experience, YES they can. I am seeing one now and he can give me scheduled medications when/ if it is warranted, and he has done so. He can prescribe a variety of prescription drugs. This is in Arizona, so I am not sure how it may vary from state-to-state. Also, they must have a D.E.A number to do so, which my doctor has.

Oddly, there is not allot of concrete information about this on the internet, what they can prescribe etc., this is all from my own personal experience.

Jonas salk has got a few or a lot awards i am researching it and so far I've only got 2 and i will share the ones which i found out:

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor, with an added specialty of psychiatry. So they would need certifications in both of these fields. A psychologist, on the other hand, has a degree in psychology alone. They are not medical doctors, cannot prescribe medications, etc.

If by scripts you mean perscriptions, then yes they do.

Yes - by law they are required to. Even if they telephonically confirm a script, it has to be fowllowed up with a signed prescription.

Of course they do interning before they graduate medical school. Within that internship, they are working under a close watch of a physician or attending with limited services that you are only licensed or by law allowed to do. After graduation and passing your boards, you will become what is called a resident. You will go through your residency as if you're still interning but your services won't be limited because you would have already had a legal degree. You will still be working under an attending or chief resident until your residency is over, and then you're FREE.

The advantages of doctors is the compensation that they receive for their knowledge of the medical field. The disadvantages are that they are easily targeted for lawsuits.
