Dog Breeding and Mating

Puppy mill dogs can live as long as dogs obtained by any other means. However, they are bred and kept in diplorable conditions before they are purchased or adopted. They are often kept in very small, dirty cages. There is a lot of animal abuse associated with puppy mills.

I do not know the answer to this for sure, however, I recently took our 7 week old male pot belly pig to be neutered, and the vet cut where the testicles should be...and found none. She then cut higher and again found none what-so-ever. She stated that he was either born without both testicles (rare - less than 1% born without both testicles), or that they are in his abdomen. She then advised to keep an eye on him for another month and see if any testicles descend or if he becomes aggressive and gets that musky male odor that intact boars get. If so, we are to take him back and if no testicles have descended, then she will have to open his abdomen and look around in there to see if that is where they are. If she does not find the testicles there, then it will mean that he was born without both testicles. I would love to have a clear answer from someone "in the know" on this however. Thanks

They should only mate once a day, every other day, for 5 days (mate the first day, wait a day, mate again, wait a day, mate the third time).

Do not give them as much as they will eat. Rottweilers will eat until their stomachs become hard. They may have to have their stomachs pumped if they are allowed to gorge themselves in this manner. Also, hey grow at an accelerated rate if fed too much, and this can have damaging effects on their joints. The guideline is generally 1 to 7 cups a day depending on the formula of the food. The best advice is to consult your veterinarian.

Redness in urine usually indicates blood, which is never a good sign.

It depends entirely on the breed, purpose and your effort. I sell my show quality Irish Setters for $1,000 a puppy. That may seem like a lot, but many German Shepards go for 4 to even $5,000. It is more work than you think it would be. I would suggest looking into it before you start.

I assume that if the dogs have no other choice then they would mate and considering they are both dogs it would probably work. I think that they naturally choose not ot breed with each other. I think some cockapoos are bred with stardard poodls though, so maybe.

Guessing you are asking if you can make your cat regurgitate/vomit, ie if you think they've ingested something dangerous? There are substances you can feed them to trigger it, any poison control centre would be able to tell you.

Yes. But if there realted there puppys are likely to have health issues so i dont recomend breeding animals that come from the same mother.

Any female dog is able to become pregnant twice a year (every heat) but it is extremely irresponsible and dangerous to breed a single dog that many times. You could calculate an average lab lives to be 12 and go into their first heat about the age of 1, so that culd be 22 pregnancies. But any responsible breeder will breed a female only 2 or 3 times max.

Well, normally, for the first litter, she should have 3-6 puppies. I have a German shepherd, and she had 10 puppies! I know that's alot. Anyway, as long as you check up on your puppies and the mom too, everyday, for a while, and as long as they are healthy and happy, they should be fine. And if you see anything wrong contact a vet, or a local animal shelter to help you out.

A dog that's 17 in human years is OLD, and shouldn't be bred at all.

You should wean them between 5-6 weeks, if you dont take them away from mom her milk wont dry up and they will continue to try to nurse you can start offering them dry puppy food mixed with warm water at around 4 weeks and fully wean them off the mother by 6 to 8 weeks.
