Your dog just had puppies and keeps trying to move the runt away from the other puppies?

It obivously doesn't love it, you should eat the dog instead. Wow, that first answer's a weird one. Anyway...mother dogs can sense it when a puppy is weak, unhealthy and/or likely to die, and will shove it away in favor of the healthy pups. "Love" has absolutely nothing to do with it; this is purely instinctual behavior...survival of the fittest.

How do children and little puppies get along?

This getting along, arouses from the nature of the two. Probably that both of them like playing, when they become one its a massive interaction.

Heartworm treatments for puppies and what age?

This is a question for your vet. Often puppies are started as early as 8-10 weeks of age, but it depends on the type of heartworm preventative to be used.

How much are morkie newborn puppies?

A Morkie (also called Yorktese, Malkie ) in Canada costs between $600 - $700. A reputable breeder will not sell someone a "Newborn" pup, pups need to be with their mother for at least eight weeks.

In The US, they can be around $200-$300 because they are a mix breed, known as a mutt

Is breeding your dog very difficult?

Physically, breeding is a matter of timing, and must (obviously) coincide with the female coming into heat and having a male of similar size nearby.

Who needs caring for the longest calf puppy or human baby?

The human baby. A human baby depends on his/her parents for 16 to 18 years. By contrast, a calf depends on its mother for 8 months of its life, and a puppy will stay with its mom for a year or so, even though weaning age is around 6 weeks.

Can you spray your female dog with anything in the vaginal area to diminish her scent while in heat?

I would spray nothing in the vaginal area of a dog and certainly not inside the vagina itself.

I have had some success with something our dog's breeder suggested: Put some drops of vanilla extract spotted around on the coat in the area of the rear of the female (not in or on the vaginal area, though) and more drops spotted around the nose of the male. You must reapply from time to time to keep these smelling fresh to help confuse the male dog's sense of smell. It is really nice, too, because your dogs will smell like cookies!

Be sure to use the "panties" that are made for the females to collect drainage so you can change the "pad" to throw away when soiled (throw away in garbage containers outside or away from the dogs as well as possible). Otherwise, the drainage and scent of the female will get on things in the environment and really get the males wound up. If you see spots that have gotten on something, clean and then rinse with vinegar water or with an enzyme clean-up product made especially for cleaning up organic or dog messes (e.g., Nature's Miracle).

Depending on the size of the dog, you can rig up the "panties" for yourself using some of the disposable toddler "pull up" diapers and cutting a hole for the tail. I have also used a pair of small boy's knit boxer shorts put on her backwards with her tail sticking out of the front opening in the shorts. These work pretty well with women's stick-on disposable panty liners for menstruation.

You will still have to keep the males and female confined and separate at all times until the heat is over, but you may have males who are less frustrated and less whiny when you try the above.

Why would a boxer puppy's tail fall off?

Puppy tails don't just fall off by themselves - they are amputated or docked to conform to the breed standard. The breed standard was developed in the Middle Ages, when a tax on dogs was instituted. Working dogs, such as herding or guard dogs, were exempt from the tax and to show they were exempt had their tails docked.

If you see a boxer puppy prior to docking, then afterwards, you can see how much length is removed. Ideally, this is done by a veterinarian within the first few days of birth to minimize pain and scarring. However, some breeders will perform the procedure at home, sometimes with elastic bands (called an "elastrator" - it's also been marketed to castrate calves, sheep and goats).

How long do people need to keep newborn dockson puppies?

If the puppies are with the mother then you should keep them with her until 8 weeks of age. The mother will instinctively wean the puppies on her own, but you may need to help her by removing her from the puppies. The puppies can technically be taken away after 6 weeks, but the longer the puppies are with the mother the better because they will learn from their mother.

How do you get a beagle puppy to stop biting you?

Unfortunately, hounds in general tend to be chewers - ask anyone with a basset in particular. It tends to be a lifelong trait. As for biting you in particular, they ought to grow out of it. Scolding it IMMEDIATELY when it has nipped you with a firm "No!" is often effective. There is absolutely no need to punish such behaviour in a puppy by tugging/pulling on its lips, biting back, shouting or hitting - all this will do is teach the puppy to become defensive and possibly scared, which ultimately may make the biting worse.

Should you let your dog hide her puppies?

What are signs that a puppy is dying from worms?

If your pup is acting sick, take him or her to a Veterinarian immediately. The best way to detect internal parasites is to take a small fecal sample from your dog into your Vet to be checked out. You should be deworming your pup on a regular basis but best to know what types of parasites he or she has, thus a trip to the Veterinarian is needed. Don't forget about your pup's needed vaccinations (given only when the pup is healthy).
