The best way to farm Elemental Essences is to, if you can, do the quest "The Storm War" in the Nythera saga (can't use quest log to start it, must talk to Nythera.). Click The Front and the Battle button. Now click the Sneak attack button. Keep doing that quest and you'll have very fast elemental essences.

To obtain story badges, simply finish stories. The more stories that you finish the more badges you get. The same goes for the armors and events. Get the skills for each armor to the max and that badge will be marked down.
