Should you use distilled spring or drinking water in a fish bowl?

While I don't believe in keeping fish in a bowl you should never use distilled water to keep fish in. It will kill them eventually. Tap water is perfect for most fish once the chlorine has been removed/evaporated off. You can do this by simply leaving the water in a bucket overnight. I refuse to waste money on water conditioners.

How can you make sea water fit for drinking?

Get yourself a simple distillation apparatus. It consists of a round bottom flask you put your sea water in, which then connects to a still head, and then a cold water condenser, an adapter and receiving flask. Heat the sea water to boiling, and then the pure water vapor will condense in the column, and collect in the receiving flask. The sea salts will be left behind in the original flask, and you will have nice pure water....example http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9c/Simple_distillation_apparatus.svg

What happens if i don't eat and i only drink water?

== == * You are really harming yourself. Starving yourself doesn't actually make for a good diet. Your brain needs protein (from dairy products and meat products) and your colon needs grains, leafy green vegetables to work properly. Your kidneys and other organs need that 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water per day to flush out fat and toxins. Fruits are a must and are full of vitamin C. Exercise is important as well. By doing what you are doing you are starving your body and before you know it the body will turn on itself and start feeding off itself and you'll lose muscle mass and have a myriad of problems with your body. Get smart! If you find it difficult to do this on your own please join Weight Watchers (teaches good eating habits while you maintain a good weight). No, I don't work for Weight Watchers, but go when I feel those lbs. hit me around the holidays. * If you only have three weeks, then you can lose a lot of weight. You should eat some healthy soups and vegetables though. It will be tough the first few days but by about day four you will feel great.

Children should drink between 6-8 glasses a day.

The standard recommendation of water intake for children is at least 6-8 glasses (1.5 - 2 liters) a day, drunk regularly throughout the day (at least 3-4 glasses while at school) ensuring that plenty of additional fluid is drunk during warm weather and/or when exercising.

For teenage boys aged 14 over who require a higher average fluid intake of 2.6 liters (about 11 large glasses).

Adults should drink half of their body weight in ounces if they only exercise about 20 minutes a day, and it is not extremely hot weather. It might be the same for children. For example if a person weighs 130 pounds they should drink at least 65 ounces of water a day.

How does drinking bad water make you dehydrated?

When too much salt ingested and ends up in the blood, the concentration of the blood increases, causing water from the surrounding tissue to move into the blood to dilute it and eventually move into the kidneys and excreted in excess to remove all the extra salt injested
Saltwater, as in sea water, is more hypertonic than the serum in human blood. Therefore, when excess salt is purged by the kidneys, the requisite amount of water is "pulled" out along with it. This process leads to dehydration.

5 Steps of Water Purification

Water purification plays a key role in ensuring access to safe drinking water. Safe drinking water positively impacts the health of the entire community. Systems are in place to ensure ongoing water quality, including water quality testing. The testing helps ensure the water treatment process results in a product that meets federal water quality guidelines. Water analysis involves looking for several kinds of contaminants, including unsafe levels of organic, inorganic, microbial and/or radioactive contaminants.

ScreeningWater from lakes, rivers or the ground passes through a screen as it enters the water treatment plant. When the water source is a lake or river, the screen serves an important function, keeping out large natural contaminants such as plants and wood, or fish. If ground water is used, screening may not be necessary since the water has passed through layers of the earth in what is essentially a natural screening function.Usable Heat Energy www.eisenmann.com/usaThermal Treatment of Sewage Sludge Reduce Waste Mass with EISENMANN

CoagulationTreatment plant workers add alum and other chemicals to the water, which cause tiny sticky particles, or floc, to form. These floc attract dirt particles, making them eventually heavy enough to sink to the bottom of the water storage tank. SedimentationThe water and floc flow into a sedimentation basin. As the water sits there, the heavy floc settle to the bottom, where they remain until removal. FiltrationWater passes through layers of gravel, sand and perhaps charcoal, which serve to filter out any remaining particles. The gravel layer is often about 1 foot deep and the sand layer about 2½ feet deep. DisinfectionWater goes into a closed tank or reservoir. Chlorine or other disinfecting chemicals kill any remaining microorganisms or bacteria in the water and help keep the water clean until distribution. If a water treatment facility uses ground water as its only water source, disinfection may be the only step required to sufficiently treat the water. After it is disinfected, the purified water sits in the closed tank or reservoir until it flows through pipes to homes and businesses.
