Why does Dasani have salt in it?

The salts in Dasani change the flavor of the water. Distilled water (you can buy it at the supermarket) is 100% pure H2O. If you buy a bottle and drink it I wager that you won't like it very well. Most people prefer the taste of some city tap water or bottled water or well water due to the custom mineral content. Thus, some people prefer the flavor of Dasani due to the mix of three mineral salts added to it.

Note: Gatorade has 200mg of salt in 8oz of it. This provides electrolytes to heavy sweaters (usually athletes or people working outdoors in the heat). Dasani has too little sodium to register a measurable amount in 8oz.

How can contaminated water be treated to make it safe for drinking?

Because no water treatment process can protect against all impurities, it's important to find out what contaminants are present. If you have a private well, consider having the water tested. If you have a public water supply, contact the local water utility to see if they can give you a detailed water quality report showing what impurities remain in the water being delivered to your tap.

Once you determine what contaminants are present, you can then look to see if any water treatment systems have been independently tested and verified to effectively address those issues. The website nsf.org/consumer can help consumers verify if a product they are considering purchasing is certified to reduce the contaminants claimed by the manufacturer.

If you drink water from the Dead Sea will you die?

Depends how much you drink. Too much could kill you because of sodium overdose, but it shouldn't kill you normally.

===============================

Answer #2:

If that were true, then ships at sea wouldn't need to carry a lot of drinking water. They'd only need a little of it, to sweeten up the sea water all around them for drinking.

Fact is, sea water is a deadly drink over a relatively short period of time, and "sodium overdose" has nothing to do with it.

Your body chemistry is set up so that your cells absorb fresh water. A significant salt content in the water reverses this "osmotic" pressure, and the flow is in the opposite direction. Just as a salt rub draws moisture out of a chicken or a steak, salt water draws water OUT of your body's cells. The more sea water you drink, the MORE dehydrated you become, and you don't last long.

Why do cats dig up around their water bowls while they are drinking?

It may be the water is not fresh, or tastes bad, mine did the same to his food when he knew I'd added a worming powder. (he watched me do it!) Try changing the water, or bowl or both, try putting fresh water somewhere else in the house. Answer: My cat used to do that when I add kitty grass in with the wet food. They'd dig around and only eat the food and not grass. But now that they're grown up, they love eating grass... As for the water, my cat wouldn't drink water if it's even a little bit less fresh. I ended up getting water fountain thingy that filters the water. Also doesn't like hard water, only wants to drink filtered water anyway. I try to wash all his water/food containers every day or every other day, and that helps the appetite as well as drinking water too.

Is sterile Water for Inhalation safe for drinking?

Irrigation water may be potable, but it is not sterile. When in doubt, boil the water for baby.

Answer 2: Unless you are in a dire situation such as a third world country or lost in the woods (which I doubt as you are using the internet) Do not give an infant or child any water that is not from a safe potable tap (such as your kitchen water faucet, if the water in your area has been deemed safe for human consumption), or from a factory sealed, drinking water.

Can you beat a urine drug test by drinking water?

Try a glass or bottle of water with a cap full of distilled vinegar in it. The more you pee the cleaner your urine will be. You can def take the test the next day. Yes you can but it is best if doing this to stop using *whatever it is you are using* 3 to 5 days before test. Just watch your water intake since you can die from drinking to much water, and you also dont want to dilute your urine alot, as most testing facilities look for this.

Does drinking water burn calories?

Yes and No..Water itself contains no calories so if you drink water at body temperature, you will neither gain nor lose calories. However, if you drink cold water, your body will burn a small number of calories warming up the water. Yes, but how many?First it is important to note the difference between a calorie and a Calorie. By definition a calorie is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius at one atmosphere pressure. What we commonly call a Calorie (with a big C) is actually a kilocalorie, or 1000 little calories.

Since body temperature is 37.5 degrees Celsius and there are apx 997 grams of water in a liter, we burn about 37,000 calories (37 Calories) for every liter of almost freezing ice water we drink.

If we drink the recommended 8 cups/2 liters of water per day, 74 calories isn't much when compared to a 2000 Calorie a day diet, but over a year that adds up to around 27,000 Calories burned just by drinking your water ice cold instead of warm!

How can you make water safe to drink?

Milk is heat treated by pasteurisation (72°C for 15 seconds) or sterilised (142°C for 2-3 seconds).

This kills off pathogenic organisms (that will make you sick) and pasteurisation will kill some of the spoilage bacteria. Sterilisation kills most of the spoilage organisms in the milk.

After processing the milk is packed into special containers and stored. Pasteurised milk is stored in a refrigerator and must remain cold to prevent spoilage.

Sterilised milk is packed into sealed, light tight containers and stored at ambient temperature.
