What causes pressure or hearing your heartbeat in your ears?

It's possible that you have high blood pressure. Make sure to have it taken.

AnswerWax build-up can cause this and you should have your doctor clean out your ears anyway. Tinnitus is also another cause. Sometimes it's the way you may sleep on your pillow (pressing your head down on the pillow during sleep without being in REM sleep. Sinus infection can do this. Having the flu or a cold. High blood pressure.

Most of us on occasion can hear our heart beat during the night when things are very quiet. Most of us ignore it during the day, but it's there always. I suggest you see your doctor to check out your ears and possibly do a few other tests should he/she feel the need. Don't sit and worry about it because I'm sure it's nothing serious. I've heard my heart beat as I lay down on occasion and what I do is prop my pillow up or put an arm under my head and it goes away.

Solution

i have also been hearing heart beat noises in my ear, beat sounds has been happening for over a week, i have tryed everything that i have read on the internet but nothing been working such as putting pressure behind the ear that made the beats stop for about 10sec. then i found the solution to stop this sound. it is a Indian remedy but please check that you are not allergic to garlic and mustard oil. Put two pieces of garlic in a pan and then pure some of mustard oil in the pan and heat it till it turns black. Allow it to cool right down and put 2-3 drops to the side of ear. puts the drops in your ear for 2-4 days and the heartbeats sound will stop.

If you have an ear infection will blowing smoke in your ear help?

Depending on the Type of Infection. There are Inner, Middle, and Outer Ear Infections. The Most common would be Middle, also known as "Swimmers Ear." This type of Infection is cause by a fungi which lives off the water trapped in your ear after swimming. (Usually from swimming in Ponds or unclean bodies of water) When you blow smoke into the ear the warm smoke dries out the ear and clogs the passage(ear canal) and this vitally damage the infection or even kill it... to ensure the infection is gone, after you blow smoke into the ear, put 2-3 drops of peroxide into the ear. If these do not work see a doctor.

My puppy has nystagmus and burys her head down. She is getting over parvo and is 8 weeks old and also has ear infection. Could nerve damage be from this or from an Iv into her jugular vein?

It's most likely caused by the ear infection. If she has not been treated for the ear infection she should go to the vet immediately If left untreated ear infections can spread and cause permanent damage or death. Refer to the following link. It will explain why an ear infection will cause nystagmus.

It's highly unlikely the IV caused any damage. It probably saved her life by keeping her hydrated.

Is it ok to stick toilet paper in your ear when you have an ear infection?

You should really avoid doing this.

Toilet paper is not very clean. Bear in mind that it is touched by people who are using a germ-covered toilet.

Aside from that, if a toilet is flushed without the lid being closed, microscopic particles of urine and faeces spray up in the air and may have landed on the tissue (and anything else in the bathroom, such as hairbrushes and toothbrushes).

By putting germ-covered tissue in your ear, you will make the infection much worse. Even a clean, untouched roll of tissue can contain germs from factory production.

Also bear in mind that tissue will prevent air getting to your ear, which, again, will worsen the infection.

If you are going to put anything in your ear, you should use clean cotton wool. Preferably medical-grade cotton wool, available from any supermarket or pharmacist. Wool prevents germs getting into your ear and also allows your ear to breathe.

You should see a doctor or pharmacist for anti-biotic treatment, most likely in the form of ear drops.

What can ear infection do to pregnant woman?

During pregnancy it is not a good idea to take anything without a doctors approval and prescription based on a visit. I am 22 weeks pregnant with my first and when I saw the doctor for what I thought was an ailing throat issue (strep) it ended up being a simple ear infection. I received a prescription of Amoxicillin 250mg which 3 doctors have told me is safe during pregnancy. Yes the ear infection is painful, but is very normal especially during the winter months. Better you go and get reviewed instead of looking for answers online. If you don't have coverage, ask the pharmacy and also look at throat sprays, popsicles and sucking candies to ease your pain and help you sleep. Oh, and mother was right.....gargle with salt water as well.
