Various components can be added and removed from a contactor. Auxiliary contacts can be inserted in front of the main contacts, as well as a time relay in the case of motor starters (star/delta starter). Usually you should fit a overload relay when you use the contactor in a motor starter, this is inserted in the main contacts at the bottom. However, the internal components like the coil may never be changed or replaced.

Does a repossessed lease vehicle have to be held any certain amount of time before resale?

When you finance or lease a vehicle, your creditor holds important rights on the vehicle until you've made the last loan payment or fully paid off your lease obligation. These rights are established by the signed contract and by state law. If your payments are late or you default on your contract in any way, your creditor may have the right to repossess your car. Talking with Your Creditor

It is easier to try to prevent a vehicle repossession from taking place than to dispute it afterward. Contact your creditor when you realize you'll be late with a payment. Many creditors will work with you if they believe you'll be able to pay soon, even if slightly late. Sometimes you may be able to negotiate a delay in your payment or a revised schedule of payments. If you reach an agreement to modify your original contract, get it in writing to avoid questions later. Still, your creditor may refuse to accept late payments or make other changes in your contract and may demand that you return the car. By voluntarily agreeing to a repossession, you may reduce your creditor's expenses, which you would be responsible for paying. Remember that even if you return the car voluntarily, you're responsible for paying any deficiency on your credit or lease contract, and your creditor still may report the late payments and/or repossession on your credit report. Seizing the Car

In many states, your creditor has legal authority to seize your vehicle as soon as you default on your loan or lease. Because state laws differ, read your contract to find out what constitutes a "default." In most states, failing to make a payment on time or to meet your other contractual responsibilities are considered defaults. In some states, creditors are allowed on your property to seize your car without letting you know in advance. But creditors aren't usually allowed to "breach the peace" in connection with repossession. In some states, removing your car from a closed garage without your permission may constitute a breach of the peace. Creditors who breach the peace in seizing your car may have to pay you if they harm you or your property. A creditor usually can't keep or sell any personal property found inside. State laws also may require your creditor to use reasonable care to prevent others from removing your property from the repossessed car. If you find that your creditor can't account for articles left in your car, talk to an attorney about whether your state offers a right to compensation. Selling the Car

Once your creditor has repossessed your car, they may decide to sell it in either a public or private sale. In some states, your creditor must let you know what will happen to the car. For example, if a creditor chooses to sell the car at public auction, state law may require that the creditor tells you the date of the sale so that you can attend and participate in the bidding. If the vehicle is to be sold privately, you may have a right to know the date it will be sold. In either of these circumstances, you may be entitled to buy back the vehicle by paying the full amount you owe, plus any expenses connected with its repossession (such as storage and preparation for sale). In some states, the law allows you to reinstate your contract by paying the amount you owe, as well as repossession and related expenses (such as attorney fees). If you reclaim your car, you must make your payments on time and meet the terms of your reinstated or renegotiated contract to avoid another repossession. The creditor must sell a repossessed car in a "commercially reasonable manner" - according to standard custom in a particular business or an established market. The sale price might not be the highest possible price - or even what you may consider a good price. But a sale price far below fair market value may indicate that the sale was not commercially reasonable. Paying the Deficiency

A deficiency is any amount you still owe on your contract after your creditor sells the vehicle and applies the amount received to your unpaid obligation. For example, if you owe $2,500 on the car and your creditor sells the car for $1,500, the deficiency is $1,000 plus any other fees you owe under the contract, such as those related to the repossession and early termination of your lease or early payoff of your financing. In most states, a creditor who has followed the proper procedures for repossession and sale is allowed to sue you for a deficiency judgment to collect the remaining amount owed on your credit or lease contract. Depending on your state's law and other factors, if you are sued for a deficiency judgment, you should be notified of the date of the court hearing. This may be your only opportunity to present any legal defense. If your creditor breached the peace when seizing the vehicle or failed to sell the car in a commercially reasonable manner, you may have a legal defense against a deficiency judgment. An attorney will be able to tell you whether you have grounds to contest a deficiency judgment.

How do you get a license to be an electrician?

According to the US Department of Labor, most people learn the electrical trade by completing an apprenticeship program lasting 3 to 5 years.

Apprenticeship gives trainees a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the trade and generally improves their ability to find a job. Although electricians are more likely to be trained through apprenticeship than are workers in other construction trades, some still learn their skills informally on the job. Others train to be residential electricians in a 3-year program.

The typical large apprenticeship program provides at least 144 hours of classroom instruction and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training each year. In the classroom, apprentices learn blueprint reading, electrical theory, electronics, mathematics, electrical code requirements, and safety and first aid practices.

Most apprenticeship sponsors require applicants for apprentice positions to be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and be able to pass a skills test.

Can a master electrician get a pe license?

A master electrician cannot get a PE license without going through the process an Engineer has to go through to get a PE license.

The typical process to become a PE is to have 4 year undergraduate engineering degree, then pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (F.E.) which is 8 hours. After 4 years of work experience (at least 2 of which must be design), the candidate can sit for the PE exam. Upon passing the exam, the candidate becomes a PE.

There is the possibility of taking the PE exam without having an engineering degree (or even a college degree I think) but that will require 10 years of Engineering experience (and this varies from state to state). The reality is passing the FE exam without an engineering or science background is almost impossible, and to pass any of the PE exams without this background would be very difficult as well.

Now, the flipside is true of a PE or Engineer who wishes to become a Master Electrician. Just like it is required to have design experience to be eligible to take the PE exam, it is required for one to work as an electrician for several years before being eligible to become a licensed electrician.

Having an Engineering degree can waive a few years off the requirement, but the work still needs to be done.

For the record there are people out there with both licenses, one of them being Joseph Sheehan who is one of the editors of the National Electric Code.

What is the ct multiplier?

A CT multiplier is the ratio of current trough a CT to the output of a CT. Example: A 200/5 Multiplier means that the cable passing through the CT must see 200A to provide a 5A output to the reading meter. The reading meter will then display 200A on it's display but it of course is only seeing 5A itself. Many digital meters have selectable Multipliers so you don't have to stock a wide selection of meters.

What is the Israeli wire color code?

In an Israeli single phase system the hot wire (live) is brown, the neutral (0V) is blue and the ground is green with a yellow tracer. In older installations the hot is red and the neutral is black. However occasionally these colors aren't exact. For example you may see brown and black wires. In this case the brown is the hot.

You should always verify the wiring especially if the standard colors (blue, brown, and green with a yellow stripe) are not present.

Can you take online courses to be an electrician?

I would not advise it, some states do not recognize on line courses as a legitimate education. Check with your licensing agency in your state before you send any money. How much do you think you can learn "in less than a year!", on your own just reading a book, without any on the job training? There are however acceptable electrician continuing education that people can take online. Those are very useful for electricians who doesn't have much time to attend seminars or conferences for their CE credits requirements.

During work hours an electrician should not wear?

During working hours an electrician should not wear any metal jewelry (increases odds of shock and electrocution), any non flame resistant clothing (if the electrician is in an arc blast the flame resistant clothing will self extinguish when the blast ends, reduces the burn damage), contact lenses (prescription safety glasses are safer), a conductive hardhat (make sure your hardhat is rated for electrical work and the date stamp is within 5 years), and steel toe boots or regular footwear (electricians should wear non-conductive electrical safety boots).
