The value of an Elvis record can vary greatly. Conditions to consider are how old it is, the condition of the record itself (and how well it plays), condition of the sleeve, whether or not it still has any inserts or extras that came with it, the rarity of the record (the fewer available in the world, the more valuble), the record label is was recorded under and how desirable it is to the record collecting community. There are alot of record pricing books available in any bookstore, but they can only give an estimate as the record collecting market changes alot. Some people are willing to shell out alot of money for a record they want very badly, whereas others wouldn't pay much of anything for it. It really depends on your buyer.

It has been said he was in rehab for brief stints, but they were very private. I believe he wanted it. He needed it bad. He had so much pain in his last years he took drugs to kill the pain, but it wouldn't work. Very sad.

Elvis not only revolutionized the music industry by creating what we all call Rock N' Roll, but it also became a sex icon. He made performance an entirely new thing. Instead of having a band and synchronized movements, he actually began to dance and interact with audiences. He was sexy. He made women pass out and scream and cry. People hated him and thought he was inappropriate, but really he helped the world see a new kind of music and a new way of life.
