What does an inconclusive pregnancy blood test mean and could you still be pregnant?
A pregnancy blood test shows the level of the hormone HCG in the blood. There is quite a wide variation of normal in non-pregnant women so an early test may come into the 'high normal' range which would be 'inconclusive'. A second test a few days later showing a significant increase would be 'conclusive'. Peeing on a stick is much cheaper and just as accurate, and you are the first to know the result.
Can marijuana give false positive pregnancy tests?
It shouldn't THC (the psychoactive chemical in marijuana) works by mimicking neurotransmitters in your brain. It is broken down into metabolites and remains in the blood for days to weeks, depending how often marijuana is used. Home pregnancy tests test for human chorionic gonadotropin, which is a hormone released once implantation of the egg occurs. I see no reason as to why THC metabolites would affect a pregnancy test. Pregnancy tests have also been known to give false positives too, so taking two is always a good idea.
What do you do if pregnancy tests give different results?
Usually different results from pregnancy tests come from using the test too early. Taking the test too soon will cause a test to read a false negative. Some HPT are more sensitive than others, they will read positive sooner than a less sensitive test. False negative results are very common from using the test too early, false positive is almost unheard of unless the test kit was damaged somehow. Always check the kit before using it, including the expiration date and follow directions.
You should go to your doctor and ask for a blood test to see if you are pregnant or not. Maybe you are pregnant and your hcg is low that's why the hpt tells you negative results.
Half a line in a pregnancy test means?
that you need to take another test or your half way pregnant take your pick.
How can you misread a pregnancy test?
The only way you can do this is either 1) buy the cheapest pregnancy test you can find at least 3 of those and one of them should come out positive if you pee on it...2) get an actual pregnant friend to pee on it for you...
Can narcotics give you a false negative pregnancy test?
No. I was wondering the same thing and did research on it. My period is two and a half months late and urine and blood negative. I am sitting in dr. Office right now...trying to figure out what's up. I read if pregnancy hormone is high in system due to twins, the tests could come back negative.
Can a bladder infection give you a false negative on a pregnancy test?
No, UTI or bladder infection cannot give positive pregnancy test results. The positivity of a pregnancy test is due to a reaction involving hCG, human chorionic gonadotropic hormone that is present in the urine and an antibody with indicator coated test strip. If the woman is pregnant, then hCG will be present. If she is not pregnant, hCG will not be prestent.
Will a tubal pregnancy give a false pregnancy test result?

Is it possible to get a false positive when you take a pregnancy test at a clinic or hospital?
Yes, both false positives and negatives can happen at reliable clinics. Sometimes the reagents used for the test may be old, improperly stored or handled, causing the problem. On the other hand, home pregnancy tests are notoriously inaccurate.
Anything is possible; however, they're usually always right. Sometimes home tests may not be able to detect the pregnancy hormone. If you are pregnant, congratulations, and be very happy!
How often should you take a pregnancy test after getting a negative?
If you have a negative pregnancy test and you feel that you still could be pregnant you should wait 24-48 hours then test again. Home pregnancy tests are most reliable when used 14-16 days after ovulation and when used with the first urine of the day.
Why would you have a false positive pregnancy test?
On rare occasions you can encounter a false positive due to improper testing, expired pregnancy tests, rare medical conditions such as certain types of cancer, evaporation lines or a chemical pregnancy. To ensure the best results: * Take the test in the morning, if possible, because your hCG (pregnancy hormone) levels are at it's highest * Don't drink a bunch of fluids before taking the test because it will dilute your urine and can affect the results * Take the test no more than 1-2 days before expected period. Although some test say that you can see results up to 5 days before your missed period, the percentage of accuracy is very low. * urinate for as long as possible on the foam-like strip * wait for the results! Does a pregnancy test read negative when you have a ectopic pregnancy?
an ectopic pregnancy has the same symptoms and signs as a regular pregnancy and you still develop the hormones you would with a normal pregnancy. The human chorionic gonadotropin levels are what cause the pregnancy test to read positive. All pregnancies have hcg levels that should be doubling every other day in early gestation.. an ectopic pregnancy may test negative if taken too early, or too late because the body will eventually,(around 6-11 weeks) begin to try to expel the pregnancy when hormone levels begin to drop when the fetus is no longer viable and must be removed
Hope it helps!
What levels of HCG can home pregnancy tests detect?
All pregnancy tests are designed a little differently and a positive result may come from a high or low level of HCG, it really depends on the manufacturer of the test. When they make the test, they determine what amounts of that hormone need to be detected to produce a positive result. Check the manufacturer's instructions.
Is it possible to be pregnant and have low hcg levels that it doesnt show on a pregnancy test?
No. You will have HCG levels in your system if you are pregnant. If you are very early on, it could show negative, you don't start producing HCG until the baby is implanted.
Is 3 weeks too early for a pregnant test?
Not likely.. cos ovum which means women' egg cell will pass through the fallopian tubes in few days time.. When the sperm or male worm cells was ejaculated into the vagina, it takes couple of hours to reach the egg for fertilize process.. Sperm can live at least 3 days in womens' body.. This means pregnancy will take earlier o after the period.. This has to depend on the sperm n egg cell.. U will notice u r pregnant maybe after a week or maybe months to tell..
False negative pregnancy test?
False negatives are much more common than false positives. The commonest reason is that the test is taken too early. It takes 6-10 days after fertilisation for the embryo to implant and start producing hormones so you are unlikely to have built up a sufficient hormone level to test positive until around the time of a missed period. The other reason is if the test is not taken with the first (and strongest) urine of the day, the hormone in the urine is too diluted to register on a test.
Is it possible that a blood test could be a false negative if taken too early?
Yes, you have to give the hormones time to build up
Yes it can. My advice to you is if you feel that you really are pregnant, buy several test, and if they are all negative and you STILL think you're are pregnant, go to the Dr. and get him to test you.
Most likely not, the tests are pretty accurate.
It would be highly unlikely that you would be pregnant after 4 test, considering the blood test taken by the doctor should be pretty accurate in detecting whether you are pregnant or not.
i agree with the other answers, most likely not, but it is still possible, i went through 3 or 4 home pregnancy tests after my missed period, started a week late, and still ended up being 2 months pregnant.
Yes, it is possible. It happened to my best friend as well as bleeding. She took three home tests, then one at the doctors...all came back negative. Two weeks later she took another one which came back positive. Went to the doctor next day, had a scan which showed she was two months pregnant. So yes it is possible though it isn't that common.
Wait two weeks or another month and take another test.
I just want to agree with this person above. I took four tests and the doctor's test. I was planning for a baby took one two weeks after trying, then waited another week, then another, then another. After that I still wasn't the doctor was going to test me to see when ovulation would occur for me for the best time. When doing that he does a test there to be sure I wasn't pregnant, they all do it. That came back negative. He went to check to see if I had released an egg yet with an ultrasound, and there was my daughter at 5 1/2 weeks.
I just wanted to add that there are a lot of women who register a low HCG count initially and this causes a false negative reading, so if you think youmight be pregnan don't rely entirely on the test results before modifying your lifestyle as if you were indeed confirmed pregnant. If you still feel pregnant and/or your period hasn't come, it's imperative that you take the best possible care of yourself. Te first trimester is the most sensetive time for a developing baby. Eat well, don't drink alcohol or use drugs, even prescriptions meds that are contraindicated in pregnancy if there is even the chance that you are pregnant, despite test results. And see a doctor for an ultrasound if you still have not had a period after two months, esp. if you are having pregnancy symptoms.
answer
you could defineatly still be pregnant, all depends on how early you tested there might not of been enough hcg 4 the tests to detect, even those early response ones can be wrong as they have been for me in the past, just wait till your really late and try again.with my first baby i was 2 week late before i got a positive result.
How soon will a home pregnancy test be relatively accurate?
It takes approximately 36 hours for the sperm to fertilize the egg. That is about 1 day and 1/2. I would say wait at least 1 1/2 or 2 weeks before you take a pregnancy test so the results can come out accurate.
Generally, it takes about 10 to 14 days from the time of conception to accurately detect HCG in the urine. Conception may occur on a certain date however, it can take up to 3 to 4 days for actual implantation to occur. That means that you may have to wait a week to detect hcg at the proper levels.
Is it possible to test negative for Klonopin on a benzo test?
Absolutely not. Klonopin is a Benzodiazipen and it can stay in your system for up to 6 weeks based on your usage and your metabolism. I have had it test positive for 5 weeks. Benzo's are nearly impossible to cleanse out of your system. I even bought a 70 dollar test cleaner and I still failed.
Can Vyvanse cause a false negative pregnancy test?
Yes, it will show up under the Amphetamine category. 99.9%+ of companies that do drug testing will test for this category of drugs. If there's only a small amount, it may be below the confirmation cutoff and therefore report as Negative. It shouldn't be a problem as long as you have a legit RX (haven't taken your friends/sisters/pets - yes, even pets - it happens, trust me).
Is it possible to get pregnant 2 weeks after giving birth?
You're not even suppose to have sex until 4-6 weeks after giving birth vaginally and 6-12 weeks by c-section. However if you're breastfeeding, you are very unlikely to get pregnant as long as your breastfeed but it is still possible. In short- your chances for being pregnant this early is 1% You can have sex after giving birth as soon as you BOTH feel like it. Every doctor has seen women already pregnant at the 6 week post-natal check. Breast-feeding is not a contraceptive in the West we are too well-fed.
