You had a glass of wine at 6 weeks pregnant could something happen to the baby?

Most likely your baby will be fine. There's no evidence that a couple of drinks on a couple of occasions very early in pregnancy can harm a developing embryo. With that said, the key is to stop consuming alcohol now to ensure the health and safety of your unborn child. Continuing to drink regularly throughout your pregnancy is cause for a wide variety of problems including FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) in the child. Not surprising when you consider that alcohol enters the baby's bloodstream in about the same concentrations present in your blood. It takes the fetus twice as long as its mother to eliminate the alcohol from its system. When you visit your doctor, be sure to inform him of this so that he will have it on record, just in case.

If you drink too much vinegar when you 3 weeks pregnant can you hurt the baby?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I think you are fine. Some women drink apple cider vinegar to reduce indigestion. I have also heard that it can help induce labor. Some women do not realize that they are pregnant till about 6 or 7 weeks and have drank heavily (celebrating turning 21) and their babies are fine. Usually alcohol consumption doesn't really bother your baby the first couple of weeks unless you are binge drinking. But I am in NO WAY suggesting that it is okay. I am just saying that you shouldn't be too concerned if this has already happened.

How does alcohol effect the fetus?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

As far as I am aware of here are some other things: illegal drugs, narcotics, x-rays, some prescription medications (birth control pills, etc.), some over the counter medications (ibuprofen), caffine, sugar, cigarettes, smuff, cat feces, and harsh fumes. You might want to ask your doctor for a list of things.

Drugs, ibuprofin, nuprin, asprin, hot baths, artificial sweetners, and a lot of other things affect the fetus. The best thing to do is to contact your physician and ask the main things to stay away from. Also, make sure if you eat fish that it is fresh. !

How do you treat Fetal Alcohol Syndrome?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You don't treat it - you prevent it.

Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) is a serious health problem that tragically affects its victims and their families, but that is completely preventable. Causing a child to suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome is really nothing short of child abuse and it lasts for life. Babies born with FAS tend to weigh less and be shorter than normal. They usually suffer from:

• smaller heads

• deformed facial features

• abnormal joints and limbs

• poor coordination

• problems with learning

• short memories

Victims of fetal alcohol syndrome often experience mental health problems, disrupted school experience, inappropriate sexual behavior, trouble with the law, alcohol and drug problems, difficulty caring for themselves and their children, and homelessness.

"Someone who drinks" could apply to a person who has one drink a week, or someone who kills a liter of vodka a day. Your question does not state when they began drinking, how much they drink, whether or not they have other health problems, and a variety of other factors that would bear on the answer.
