How do you re-cement a crown?

my crown is in the upper font and the hole for the post is much bigger than the post so it it difficult to make it last very long, but if it were not i think i could make it last much longer. i have found 2 products that you can buy for a few dollars at Kroger or probably any supermarket.the first is called TEMPARIN it is easy to work with but for my extreme situation only lasts a few days a week at best.then there is another called DENTEMP it starts to set on contact with moisture so it is a little harder to work with but if you get it right it can last a couple months im sure if you don't have the large area to fill like me it can last much longer...i also read another answer on here of a man using superglue wich actually is non toxic but i havent tried it he said it could last 6 months

Does VMK stand for Vita Metallic Keramic?

Previous answer: "VMK stands for Virtual Magic Kingdom."

I thought this was answers.com rather than bs.com.

VMK is the name of a PFM (Porcelain Fused to Metal) product developed by a dental technology company called VIDENT, a subsidiary of VITA. It stands for "VITA Metal Keramik". It does seem strange when you're reading through dental technology literature and you see references made to "porcelain fused to metal (VMK)" and then you think, I understand PFM; where does VMK come from; what does it mean? Well I found the answer a few links after arriving at this page so thought I'd come back and provide a real answer. Here's the website that gave me my answer:

Which president supposedly wore wooden false teeth?

George Washington did not have wooden teeth. His dental problems began in his early twenties, when he was elected at the age of fifty-seven in 1789 he only had one real tooth remaining. The dentures he wore during the inauguration were made by Dr. John Greenwood known has the "Father of Modern Dentistry", carved from hippopotamus ivory and gold. One of these sets was donated to the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore, who in turn donated the upper denture to the Smithsonian in 1976. The dentures were stolen at a storage facility and never recovered; the bottom denture is housed at the George Washington Gallery inside The Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry. The "Greenwood Dentures" are the most famous created for the President; four of these remain to this day. Three other sets are also all lower dentures located at the New York Academy of Medicine, at the Mt. Vernon Visitors Center and a small segment on display at the Royal London Hospital and Archives and Museum. This where is it gets tricky, many different people made or adjusted dentures for Washington. Dr, Greenwood was just the most famous. Here is a direct quote from the fine folks at Mt. Vernon

Washington had several different sets of dentures, only one of which is still complete - and the complete set is here at Mount Vernon. Our set is made from human & cow teeth and elephant ivory, set in a lead base, with heavy metal springs. Because of the way they would have fit within his mouth, we do not believe that Washington wore this set when eating or talking. They were probably entirely "ornamental," for occasions like making silent ceremonial appearances or having his portrait painted.

He also owned other, more "functional" dentures, which could have been worn while eating or talking.

During the last ten years of Washington's life (1789-1799), a highly respected New York dentist, Dr. John Greenwood, made for the president at least two complete denture sets and several partial sets. In addition, in 1796 a man named James Gardette made Washington a set of dentures from hippopotamus ivory.

The story of wooden teeth is interesting but alas according to Steve Swank the curator of the National Museum of Dentistry no proof of wooden teeth ever being made in America exists. This is just one of the fanciful myths about the first President of the United States.

Should I get my small cavity drilled without or with Novocain?

It depends on your tolerance to pain. Even if your cavity is small, if the drill or polisher gets near the nerve, its going to send shocking pain. I had a very deep cavity that I had filled and had mistakenly taken quite a bit of Vitamin C before the procedure. Vitamin C will prevent Novocaine from working. It was very painful, but at my threshold.

On the other hand, Novocaine is pretty shocking to the body and to the immune system itself. If you're thinking of forgoing it for health reasons, and the cavity is small, it might be worth it to give it a try. You can always ask for Novocaine halfway through if you need it.

Can vineger remove tartar from dentures?

No el vineger no remueve el sarro de la dentadura postiza. Para removerlo se utilan metodos mecanicos como el cepillo dental y el hilo dental

the vineger cant do that. To remove tartar from dentures you have to use mechanic methods like toothbrush and superfloss.

Due to the continuous use of dentures, sometimes they are possible to be grown dark because the material whereupon was done absorbs pigments of the meals and drinks that we ingested daily, in that case to clarify the material are used special materials to improve the appearance of dentures.
