How do you care for burn blisters and raw skin?
I currently have raw skin because i popped my burn blister so i can tell you what I've learned. Do not put any oils such as vitamin E or lotion on it until it has scabbed over. If you are not up and about in public areas, then you should be letting it air out. I know it hurts but keeping it too moist by keeping it covered will keep it from healing as well as up the chances for infection. Coat it lightly with neosporin or silver sulfadiazine cream. Both ointments are antibiotic and will help keep it from drying out too fast as well as help it to heal. Don't wear shoes, and try not to pick at it. clean it twice a day with a gentle unscented soap or as needed but do not scrub at it or else you will ruin the new skin trying to form. You can also get something with aloe vera in it. Aloe vera is known for it's healing properties, and you can put it on raw skin. If there is swelling keep the affected area elevated if possible and take an anti-inflamatory. after it has scabbed over you can put vitamin E and or grap eseed oil to help your skin heal.
Tetanus is also sometimes called 'Lockjaw'. It usually takes two to 50 days to incubate. It usually is caused by a cut that has gotten infected soil in it. Symptoms usually occur within 5 to 10 days. Tetanus is not contagious. It can be fatal but it is very rare in the US. I would suggest that you go to a doctor immediatly. If you have not had your tetanus shot they will give you one. Aside from tetanus your main concern will probably be an infection because a nail puncture is a hard wound to clean. Go to the doctor, don't wait until it's convenient, and if you don't have insurance go to the emergency room, they have to treat you. Your jaw is probably stiff because you have clenched it tight due to the pain but get it checked anyway!

Why do people get unconscious after they loose blood?
Two factors typically come into play: Shock and hypovolemia (lack of blood). Shock is your body (and mind) trying to cope with a difficult situation, and its occurrance is not always a bad thing. Unconsciousness beats enduring extreme pain you can't escape from, for instance. And part of the shock process releases endorphins into your system, which can cut pain levels to something you can live with in order to save your own life. I watched films of a woman who, after a fall resulting in a disasterously damaged knee, who was able to CRAWL on it over 100 yards to safety - and then -- once safe -- she passed out. When interviewed, she said it wasn't even all that painful until she awakened afterwards: shock and trauma. It's also fair to say that shock can be induced in a cognitive sense. I have a good friend who passes out when he sees blood. This (I suppose) is an empathy response where he sees blood, identifies with his own bleeding, and shocks out. This says a lot for his empathy; and not as much for his chances for a career in surgery :} The other problem from bleeding out is hypoxia or lack of oxygen, resultant from blood loss (hypovolemia). No blood means no way to carry sufficient oxygen. Unconscious restults, which reduces the body's oxygen needs for a time. This is why first responders put such emphasis on stopping bleeding at trauma sites.
What can cold sores that are red and blistery be?
They might be herpes simplex sores which are caused by a virus. That is what causes most "cold sores". You can get over the counter medicines for cold sores, ask your pharmacist for recommendations. If the directions on the label or from the pharmacist don't improve the condition, it may be something else that needs a health care professional to diagnose and treat.

Cover to prevent infection and make the splint the current shape of the leg
DO NOT manipulate the limb to suit the splint.
What is the first step to take when the cord is prolapsed?
Umbilical cord prolapse is what happens when the cord comes out before the baby emerges. How long a person can live if he detects a painful lump near armpit and left it untreated?
That totally depends on what is causing the lump. It could be a cyst that is constantly irritated, it could be an infection of some kind, or it could be something more or less serious than that. To ask how long they might live is to assume that it is life-threatening. It could be, but why not find out and have it treated, assuming you want them around a little longer.

A Abrasion A wound in which tissue is partly or completely separated from the body?
For a medical abrasion, I'd prefer a definition in which the integrity of the skin is broken, but not yet a cut or a laceration.
For industrial or geology, the same considerations seem to apply. Definitely some removal of material, but not sufficient to damage the body.
What should you do if the victim refuses first aid?
If a patient refuses first aid treatment, you should be bluntly honest with them and explain the outcome if they do not seek medical attention. You should be polite but be honest.
What is the first aid for an unconcious choking adult?
It depends on the suffocation.
If the victim is in a polluted environnement (smoke ..., chemical...) , the first thing to do is to try to extirpate the victim from the danger.
If the suffocation is due to an object blocking the breathing, you must first look in the mouth and if you can see the object, try to hook it with a finger. If you can not see it, and if the victim is still conscious, you can give five slaps in the upper back (between the shoulder blades) to help the victim expel the object by coughing, if slapping is not successful, the Heimlich method can be used.

How do you know if you got stung by a bee or wasp?
If it's a bee, the stinger is barbed and thus will usually remain in the victim, so you'll rarely see more than one sting per bee. Wasp stings are generally less powerful, and the stingers are smooth, so they can retract without losing the stinger. Thus multiple stings are possible.
In regards to shin splints should you elevate your legs at night?
Elevating your legs would likely have little to no effect on relieving shin splint symptoms, as this would primarily serve to reduce blood flow in an effort to reduce swelling and inflammation. Ibuprofen and ice will accomplish this much more effectively.
"Shin splints" is more of a symptom that could be caused by several conditions than a specific condition itself. Pain or discomfort in the front lower leg when running or jumping are a good indication of this type of condition. Putting pressure on the muscles next to the tibia (shin bone) will produce discomfort or pain. Take two fingers and apply firm pressure as you slide your fingers along the tibia where the bone and muscle meet on the medial (inside) and lateral (outsided) sides of the tibia (shin bone). If you feel pain in any of these areas it is likely that either the muscle is pulling away from the bone in microscopic tears or that you have small stress fractures along the tibia.
Although wearing neoprene sleeves on the lower legs and certain taping methods can relieve some of the discomfort in the lower leg commonly referred to as "shin splints," the only real treatment for shin splints is rest and ice. Ibuprofen or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatories can help reduce inflammation and speed up recovery. A good supplemental intake of calcium, Vitamin C, glucosamine, chondroiton, and MSM will ensure that your body has the materials it needs to repair itself.
Shin splints are usually used to describe the pain and discomfort associated with the tibialis anterior muscle being torn off of the tibia because of a strength imbalance between this muscle and the soleus and gastrocnemius. To recover, the athlete should rest and apply ice to the affected area of the shin in 20-30 minute segments as often as possible. The athlete may return to exercise after the area is no longer sensitive to pressure along the tibia, the athlete can perform lower leg stretches without discomfort, and a light jog is shown to produce no pain or discomfort. The recovery period will usually take 2-3 weeks, but this can vary greatly among athletes.
To prevent shin splints from reoccurring, or to prevent them from ever occurring in the first place, one should engage in an exercise program that targets strengthening the tibialis anterior directly. This short video shows a simple exercise that is very effective in preventing shin splints.

How do you treat a sugar burn?
If it has blisters- go to the emergency room. When I burned my hand on sugar, that is what I had to do. They will probably wrap it up in gauze and prescribe pain medicine. You might have to see a hand doctor because you can burn out nerve cells. Keep it wrapped up!! If you don't, it will get infected. Also, don't pop the blisters. Don't. Good luck!

How does elevating reduce swelling and bleeding?
Elevating a limb for example helps reduce swelling & bleeding because of gravity. Putting your leg or arm up enables gravity to help keep fluid from accumulating there. Likewise, it makes it harder for your blood to get to that part of your body...less blood means less bleeding.
a sterile gauze pad is a pease of fabric that contanes no bacterea or viruses.
