When someone is burned to death how much pain will the victim go through before going into shock?
well it depends on how long is he burning or the degree of burns...many classifications are put forward
to make it simple there is 3 degrees...
* epidermis * dermis * soft tissue n bones for hypovolumic shock to occur, the burn must me 2nd n 3rd degree as there will only be loss of fluids here...
if u plan to burn him to death, he will die before he becomes hypovolumic as the excruciating pain will trigger neurogenic shock causing a vaso vagal cardiac arrest...not a very painful death i would say...
the problem begins when u save him in the middle....the fire has stopped but the fluid keeps leaking....now u have shock...the pain is also unbearable if the burns are not bone deep...as the nerves are crying for oxygen in an already decompensated circulation...however bone deep burns are not very painful as the nerves have been burned....infact it is said that most distribution of morphine goes to burn units in the hospital...like i said if the pain if tooo unbearable, he will die of neurogenic shock, so its not really a painful death...thats why burning has never been a method of torture.
When beginning mouth to mouth respiration you should start with?
When beginning mouth to mouth respiration, you should start by assessing the victim with the ABC's (Airway-tilting the victim's head back to ensure open airway, Breathing-make sure that the victim's chest is going up and down that means the victim is breathing, Circulation- check the victim's pulse) If the victim is not breathing, skip checking the pulse and start CPR. First, give the victim two breaths. Breath in and out when giving the breaths just as you would when you breath regularly. Then, start giving the victim CPR pumps or whatever you call it when you pump the victim's chest. This is all I can tell you- I am a lifeguard and if you want to know all about CPR you need to be properly taught. :)
Will eating salty foods help with heat exhaustion?
That entirely depends on why the heat exhaustion cropped up in the first place. If the body sweats a lot, it tends to lose sodium. The sodium will need to be replaced at some point. The main problem with heat exhaustion, however, is that the body is beginning to overheat. The best treatment is to get the victim out of the heat and into a cool place. If no cool palce is available, put them in the shade and cover their body with water or some other kind of fluid to allow heat dispersal. Fanning the victim also helps.
Be sure the victim is drinking plenty of water. For better results, add a pinch of table salt to the water to replace electrolytes.
