How do you rip up ceramic tile?
Tile is glued onto a surface and then grouted. Both of these processes make it stay put very well. You can break it up with a sledge hammer, but then you will also need to replace the drywall. If you are redoing a shower or bath area, replacing the drywall usually needs to be done anyway.
The standard dimensions for a toilet can vary depending on the country you live in. The American standard is either 14 or 15 inches.
How can you seal a concrete garage floor?
There are different ways to seal concrete. One way to seal concrete is to do it while the concrete is drying by applying a sealant with a paint roller. Another way is to use epoxy. Another great way is to use interlocking tile for the garage. Swisstrax has a good durable product that makes a garage looked. I would recommend the tile because it makes the garage look better and it is easy to install.

How many square feet does 6 lineal feet cover?
Lineal or Linear feet is generally the length of a given width. In flooring it is also know as "running feet" at a given product width. With regard to flooring, a company may sell a product (carpet for instance) at a width of 12 feet only and the price will be set per foot length at 12 feet wide. So if carpet costs $10.00 per lineal foot at 12 feet wide then a 12 foot wide by 10 foot long piece would cost you $100.00. To work out how many linear/lineal feet of carpet you will need take the total square feet you need to cover and divide by 12 (or whatever the standard selling width is) the answer is how many linear feet you will need.
Is Bamboo flooring as durable as hardwood flooring?
Bamboo can be as durable as hardwood - Hardwood Flooring has many more options on the Janka Hardness chart though. For example Carbonized bamboo (1180 on the Janka chart) doesn't come near Maple ( Janka rating = 1450) and bamboo doesn't come near Ipe, the most durable hardwood in the world. Some bamboo floors are more durable than others (Teragren uses bamboo that has been matured for 5+years making it stronger) also if you decide to install bamboo make sure you keep the adhesive eco friendly as well.... you can really ruin the "going Green" aspect of bamboo flooring with the wrong adhesive!
Is it good to seal tile and grout?
Yes.... But if the tile is glazed and/or the grout is epoxy (unlikely unless in a commercial building) these do NOT need to be sealed (neither will absorb water so they won't accept the sealer). The rule of thumb is to put a few drops of water on the tile and the grout, if it soaks in within 30 seconds it needs to be sealed. Never use a topical sealer. Always use a waterbased PENETRATING sealer. You will need to reapply bi-yearly or yearly in most situations, more if the tile is exposed to water. Hope this helps..........

Trafficmaster Flooring is a product of Pergo (Europe) AB of Sweden. A material safety data sheet (MSDS) is probably not available for this (or any other) composite flooring product. This stuff is a composite and is made of a number of materials. (It would be like an MSDS for a vehicle - a new car, say.) If you are concerned about the chemicals used in the manufature of this material because they will be outgassing in your home, contact the company directly and see what you can get from them. A link is provided. Note that the phone number, though it is toll free, is a 24-hour fax back.

How is marble floor installed?
Actually you would use a mud bed. Appr. 3/4 inch but will vary as no floor is level. Installing a marble floor is not for the average person to do. To tell you the truth most TILE installers have no idea what they are doing. Marble as opposed to tile is set with little to no grout joint. Also SANDED GROUT is a very big NO NO.
To install marble tiles, you first need to lay out your tiles to determine the correct position and which tiles need to be cut. It is usually around the corners or near your doorway.
After that, use a notched trowel to apply a layer of thin adhesive. Lay the tiles allowing for some tile separation and leave it to dry overnight. Once it is dry, you can use concrete to fill in the gaps. Use the squeegee to spread it and wipe the excess away. The last step is to wash the surface of the marble tiles after you are done.
MOST TILE installers do not know what they are doing!!! Marble is a porous stone, unlike a ceramic tile, it will absorb water and moisture. If you use a "notched trowel" you will leave spaces for water to settle under the stone. That water has to escape. So it will do so through to the stones surface. This escape of water will leave a haze on the stone that does not wipe away. It is called effloresence. In some cases the stone will spall. Which is basically the stone flaking away. Not all types of marble are prone to this problem but some more than others. Verde aka green marble is one of the most common for effloresence and spalling. I REPEAT Installing a marble floor is not for the average person to do.
