depends if there is movement in the walls or floor. grouts nowadays have latax additives that allow some movement, apoxy grout will last longer than any but its hard to work with and will cost ya more,(its like speading bubble gum)some come with 10, 15 and lifetime waranties, if mixed wrong it could effect the lifetime of the grout. I tore out a tile floor from the 60's and the grout was fine, the products have only improved since then.

Whoa, that's a Loaded Question! lol. Too many variables; Size of deck, Which 'composite' materials, and are you going with a Vinyl rail system? They range from $67-$350 per section but average about $125.00. Composite Rail systems will run you roughly that or more more, but they are far more time consuming to install. That being said, I begin with a Material cost of $18-$22 pr sq ft, composite decking/vinyl rail, and cross-reference my expenses until I come up with a number that's suitable, and fair to the client. You can probably expect to pay roughly $28.00-$35.00 per square foot. Again, impossible to say- the Ratio of Increase, between Area and Cost to Build, Does Not Increase with Relativity. A 10'x10' is going to cost more per SqFt than a 12'x20'. shovelhead.1 at juno

Pergo is a Swedish flooring product company noted primarily for its laminate flooring products. Pergo invented laminate flooring in the 1970s and began selling laminate flooring in the United States in 1994 under the leadership of then-president Lars von Kantzow. Even though there are many manufacturers of laminate flooring products today, many people refer to all laminate flooring as "pergo". In addition to its laminate products, Pergo introduced hardwood products into the U.S. market beginning in 2004 and will introduce similar hardwood products in Europe in 2007.
What are the advantages of Pergo flooring?
There are a couple of advantages of Pergo flooring. First of all, please understand that Pergo (a registered trademark) is a laminate, not an engineered wood or a hardwood. A lot of the Pergo line, although not ALL of it, is manufactured with the foam underlayment already on the bottom of each plank. With Laminate flooring, you need to have a 6 mil polyethelene moisture barrier, as well as a foam underlayment. The laminate floor is installed using the "floating" method. Just because Pergo has the foam underlayment attached to the planks, doesn't mean that you don't need the moisture barrier. If installed on concrete, it's best to test the moisture content of the concrete prior to installing the Pergo, as well as any other type of flooring. Especially, if installing below grade. Laminate flooring does not do well in moist areas, so be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions carefully. Another advantage to Pergo is it's price. You can obtain a "wood" look with this product, although you won't be fooling anyone. It will not hold up as well as engineered or hardwood, but it's considerably much cheaper. The key word there is "cheaper". In all meanings of the word. With all due respect, and no disrespect intended to the manufacturer and owners of Pergo or any other laminate floor. It is not, however, the cheapest and/or least expensive of laminate floors on the market. If this hasn't answered your question, please redefine your question so that I may try and provide the particular answere you're looking for. Advantages of Pergo over...?

Can laminate flooring be placed over existing linoleum?
Lino is a kind person Yes, laminate flooring can be installed over existing linoleum. You would still want to use the 6 mil polyethelene moisture barrier, as well as the foam pad (some brands have the two incorporated, some have it already attached to the laminate). That's the great thing about laminate, it can go over just about any flooring except carpet. If the room is above grade a moisture barrier isn't needed by most manufacturers but the underlayment foam is. If this is a kitchen, fill the 1/4" gap in front of the sink area or exterior doors with silicone caulking before installing trim, this keeps spills from getting under the floor. If it's a bathroom silicone the entire perimeter. However, you want to inspect the linoleum prior to just going over it. Make sure that there are no tears, gouges, wrinkles, etc. in it that would create a "bump" or depression underneath your new floor. Many contractors consider the existing linoleum a "slip sheet", and don't use the 6 mil polyehelene moisture barrier. It doesn't really cost that much to purchase the 6 mil, and it's really not that difficult to install it. As the above contributor mentioned some of it's "all in one". If you caulk aroung the edge of the floor, where your expansion gap is, be sure to use a flexable caulk, some silicone is also an adhesive and not as flexible as preferred. Elastomeric is waterproof and flexible. I also use the white paintable plastic waterproof molding in those areas, just as a precaution - that is, if the customer approves of the material. You do want to be sure to leave 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap for expansion, and if you fill that gap completely with the wrong "sealant", well...then you have no expansion gap and risk buckling and/or warping.
Thaks a lot it has shown me how the friends concrete dyo falls apart I am now trying to be a dyo Whats the secret time to to final finish with the float( wooden /steel whats the rule of thumb to take out the edging thanks Dave
What is difference between tufted carpet and woven carpet?
== == Woven is a generic term to describe many different types of carpet construction methods. One of the most common woven methods used in residential carpets is the Single Frame Wilton method which is used to make plain woven carpet. As the backing is being woven, pile yarns are introduced lengthways, (that direction) on the weaving machine. The wires may either be withdrawn leaving a loop pile, or, fitted with knives they may cut the pile. A patterned effect in a combination of cut and loop rows may be created and enhanced by using a stippled or multi-colored yarn combination.
Tufted carpets offer versatility in terms of color, pattern and texture. To make tufted carpets, tufts are individually inserted into a woven or non-woven backing using a needling technique. The backing is coated with a latex compound to anchor the tufts. A secondary backing is almost always needed on tufted carpets to add dimensional stability and mechanical strength. Patterning attachments give a variety of textures and patterns.
Can tufted carpet and woven carpet be differentiated by looking at them?
Yes you can, but you need to know if you are talking about machine tufted and woven carpet or hand tufted and woven carpet. The differences can't be explained without that knowledge.
How can you easily remove moldy silicone caulking from bathroom tile grout lines?
A hair dryer and a butter knife. Use the blowdryer to heat up and soften the caulking from around the tub or tile. Sometimes it will just pull up like a string sometimes you need to use the butter knife.I used bleach to really clean and disinfect the area before I re-do the job.Always test first on a spot that will NOT be seen.
Use a steam cleaner. Put 'steam cleaners' into a search engine. I use one and they are fantastic for lots of chores around the house.
