Hi There, If the filler cap is designed like a medicine bottle and says 'click' on the top, I think you are supposed to push down and then turn. I had problems with this too. I don't see why Ford needed to make something so simple this complicated. Anyway, I discovered that you need to turn it in the opposite direction to conventional screws. Instead of 'left loose, right tight' the Mondeo's filler caps work 'right loose, left tight'. Hope this helps, Martin

Hope this helps. On a Mk2 1997 Mondeo, open the glove till it rests on stops and pull at approx 45 degrees towards you. The axle for the glovebox is set in a groove with stops which stop you accidentally removing the glovebox. If you are not sure, shine a torch by the side of the open glove box and you will see the runner and glovebox axle end.

There should be adjustors to add or reduce the no. of clicks req'd on the cables underneath. They probably just need tightened.

For a 6000cd unit with central volume control You need 4x horizontal removal keys (widely available on the web) type ford removal tool in to any search engine. Each key inserts a certain way and releases the locking mechanism. Pull on the ring part of each key to pull the unit out.

Don't try to use the old coat hanger trick or a screwdriver as you are most likely to damage the unit.

First take off the grill cover the radiator by unclipping the clips at each side and lifting it upwards. Unscrew the two screws at the front of the head lamp and then the third screw on top. Unclip the headlight by clipping together the metal clips and take out the headlamp, making sure you do not touch the light. Fiddley, but no need to remove any major componants, though I took off the fuse cover to make it a little easier. Once holders are out and hanging by their wires, just a case of levering out the bulbs and replacing with new ones, then twisting back into place. Five minute job once you've done it the first time
