Hi I have just come accross this question and I don't know how old it is. I have some experience with batteries. If the battery is a standard lead acid battery then there is every possibility that he is correct. The ultimate answer will be supplied by the battery itself. Put it on charge and leave it there for a week or so and see what the result is. The problem with the battery will be that the sulphate on the plates has gone stale. There are devices available that have a good chance of saving the battery but they are designed for 12Volt batteries. They deliver high voltage spikes back into the battery and that helps to break up the sulphate on the plates, but there are no gaurantees. If you can get one of these devices you will have to apply it to the battery in 3 separate 12Volt groups. I hope this helps

Does a US forklift license expire?
OSHA requires retraining every three years. Therefore, a General Forklift Certification is valid for 3 years. Our program changes the status of a Certified OPERATOR from "Certified" to "Certification Expired" after 3 years. The Training Administrator must then purchase another subscription for General Forklift Training, assign it to that person, then have the person take the training to again become certified. An email notification of this change of status is sent to the Training Administrator 30 days prior to expiration. one year

Are lights required on forklift by OSHA?
Yes, OSHA regulations require that forklifts be equipped with certain safety features, including lights. Specifically, forklifts must have a working horn, and additional lighting may be necessary depending on the operating environment, such as in low-light conditions. Proper lighting helps ensure visibility and safety for both the operator and nearby pedestrians. Always refer to the specific OSHA standards and guidelines relevant to your operation for detailed requirements.
What's legal is that the load is secured so that it stays on the trailer and your axle and gross weights are legal and distributed in accordance with bridge law formula. That's pretty much the extent as far as the law is concerned. Assuming you're running a van (dry or reefer, it doesn't really matter), you'll go from front to rear and slide your tandems as you need to in order to make that happen. You're only looking at 25,200 lbs. all told, so it shouldn't be a problem. I don't have much experience with dry van - I'm an open deck driver, but I do have some, running pallets of those wood pellets for wood stoves, grills, etc., and so I'll load the first two at the front, staggered all the way to the left, the next two will be staggered all the way to the right, and I'll repeat that pattern, rather than keeping them all centered in the trailer. Then you place your load locks after the last pallets.

Is there a OSHA regulation for fire extinguishers on forklifts?
No, not specifically. But if the Fork Truck came with a fire extinguisher attached as original equipment, it must be maintained unless the manufacturer approves a change.
The local fire officials may require that a fire extinguisher of a specific class and rating be mounted on a forklift, and it must be inspected (every 30 days) and maintained annually like any other portable fire extinguisher. NFPA 505 (Fire Safety Standard for Powered Industrial Trucks [including forklifts]).
If there is a fire extinguisher on the machine, the machine operator is required to be trained in its proper use.

not all forklifts have solid tires, you may find that they are pnuematic tires in which they will need air, otheriwse solid tires will need a forklift engineer to cut them using a specialist tool, but usually the manufacturer should be able to answer your question if you enquire with an email :) (or try looking on the tyre its self?) :)
At a minimum, ensure the driver has the spring brakes set and the wheels are chocked. Some shippers may require that the emergency line to the trailer (red line) be disconnected. Some may also require that drivers remain in a drivers' lounge during loading.
