Can people really tell fortune?

No, people cannot really tell your fortune. It is just fiction that people can tell your fortune, as no one can tell the future.

"Fortune-telling" isn't "seeing the future", that's a common misconception and worse, prejudice, that people have about certain aspects of these types of practises(such as astrology, etc).

In a larger sense, fortune telling is a way of examining who you are and what you do and what you are capable of, and a doctor can reasonably be said to be "telling your fortune" by examining different parts of your body and blood, etc.

Numerous ways to "tell a person's fortune" have come up through the ages, some more contrived and less faithful than others, but simply through acts like getting a person to roll sets of dice while asking questions, etc. can a "fortune teller" get an idea of what a person is, where they are at, etc.

The teller can then mirror these observations back to the person to hopefully try give them some new sense of guidance and assuredness of their next steps in life, etc. and it's far from any type of "magic" or "seeing the future" misconception(at least on its best terms...like all crafts, professions and endeavours, it's only as good as the person who's performing it).

There's more to it, of course, but in a nutshell I would say that "yes, people can tell your fortune" and that they can do it in nearly an infinite numbers of ways(urologists do it by studying your urine, for example) :D

Does it matter which palm you read in palmistry?

Yes.

The dominant hand shows the present and future, the non-dominant hand shows the past. There also many other differences between the hands depending how you were taught to read them. I know of two: your dominate hand is your 'outer facade', meaning what you show people and what others perceive of your life while the other hand is who you really are and your take on your life. Another and most banal is your submissive hand is what God gave you to do with your life and your true potential and your dominate hand is how and what you do with said potential.

Are tarot cards a way for demons to talk to you?

Tarot cards have no magical powers, for good or evil.

Another view:

Tarot cards are cards used as an attempt to do fortune telling. If you believe in demons, that might be a way for them to talk to you, though the Ouija board is more likely to be used for that. Of course, many believe tarot cards and Ouija boards have no power, and that tarot cards are just a matter of chance. As for Ouija boards, many believe they are just the power of suggestion.

How do virtual tarots work?

This answer assumes that by "virtual tarots" you mean tarot reading live over the internet, and not tarot reading conducted by computer programs either on your computer or from a web site that does computerized tarot spreads.

Tarot readings conducted live, by someone over the internet work the same way as readings done face-to-face. Often the internet provides for a camera which allows you to watch the cards being laid out and read one by one. You can converse with the reader, ask questions, get more expanded answers, and even ask for follow-up readings as the need arises. Typically this readings are free, until you become comfortable with the reader. After that, the reading can be conducted by internet live, email, or even over the telephone. Once you understand the process and feel you are getting good and helpful information, you may want to consult the reader regularly. Typically, the better readers charge a fee for their services. The price per reading is a better value, rather than a price per minute typical with telephone scams. So be guided by your comfort level rather than all the technology involved.

If, by "virtual tarots" you were referring to computerized tarot programs, then more caution is urged. Typically, computer programs use random number generators to select cards, similar to the selection of cards for online poker or other gambling games. If there is anything essential in the Tarot reading, that is lost when human hands and minds are not involved in the selection of the cards for your readings, then it is not likely you will notice this at first. But, sooner of later your readings will sound mechanical, and the words will strike you as though they were pulled from an impersonal fortune cookie, rather intended for you specifically.

Some computer programs can seem to be quite specific and detailed -- about your particular issue -- just the way a personal card reader can be. Some programs are written so well, that the answers you get can seem amazing; even from online Tarot sites (like Tarot.com). I love Nancy Garen's website for this. As long as you are willing to do part of the follow-up work, of expanding the computer's reading your cards, you can build a working knowledge of the Tarot.

Many people simply print-out the spread generated by the computer, and then consult other sites, books or card readers for other possible meanings of the cards in the computerized spread.

Nevertheless, as any professional Tarot reader knows, actually holding the cards physically in your hands gives you a unique opportunity that computer programs cannot duplicate-- the chance to sift thru cards unseen, guided only by your own intuition, when selecting the cards you want.

The only computer program that could come close to duplicating this personalized selection process is one where the entire deck is laid out for you on the computer screen and you select the individual cards yourself, sight unseen.

One example of this is the "Thinking Tarot" which came out a few years ago. The cards were laid out face down, and you shuffled the deck as much as you wished. You selected the cards one at a time, and then chose what spread to place them in. You even had the chance to change the interpretations so that they fit your point of view and experience. There are other Tarot programs like this.

Nevertheless, unless you have a animadversion to having a deck of your own, the best approach would be to find a deck that you are comfortable with, and do lots of readings for yourself (keeping a dated journal of your cards, readings, and results). You will find that you are the only card reader you need.

A belief that man is a soul imprisoned in the persons body?

I think that the belief comes from Agnosticism. I only believe that because of the fact that they believe more in spirits rather than the whole God complex; and with that, (if i have my facts straight) that their soul/spirit will become one with the high spirit once their bodies die. (if im wrong PLEASE correct me) it will not offend me. :)

Are tarot cards always right?

The most important thing to understand when using tarot is that the cards show paths or journeys. The cards can never be 100% correct all the time. The future changes with every action that you take right now. It could be something as simple as taking a single breath differently to changing a relationship with someone. The tarot is use as a tool to guide, no a tool to give guaranteed answers.

The RiderWaite Tarot was first published in?

It was first published in 1910 by Rider & Company, a London publisher. Arthur Edward Waite designed the deck in collaboration with Pamela Colman Smith, an American artist.

The RWS Tarot deck was published in December 1909 by William Rider And Son of London. The deck was the product of the collaboration between the artist, Pamela Colman Smith (b. 1878 d. 1951) and Dr Arthur Edward Waite (b. 1857 d. 1942), who were both members of the Order Of The Golden Dawn, a famous occult group of the 19th Century. For some reason (sexism no doubt), Pamela Smiths' contribution is usually ignored, and the deck is commonly called the Rider-Waite Tarot.
