What was the World War 2 film where the heroes died drowning in a cellar following a massive shootout with the Nazis During the shootout they were at the top of a flight of stairs on a kind of balcony?

The shoot out scene I'm referring to, was in some kind of chateau/palace type place and as I recall the body count was ridiculously high. The heroes tried to escape but ended up in this cellar/dungeon that flooded. im sure that I can remember them kissing before they drowned and maybe even shot themselves before drowning. At the time my dad explained the kissing as they were brothers??? I'm a bit more worldly wise now. Im sure it was set in France. the heroes were in civilian clothing.

The was the Maginot line?

It was a hugely expensive French effort, not an allied one, to create a state of the art defense network of forts and tunnels against German invasion. It anticipated the wrong point of German attack. The Nazis simply went through Belgium...in all of four days.

Answer 1The Maginot Line was a line of undergound defensive fortifications along the border of France with Germany and Belgium. The line of mini forts, containing artillery and/or machine guns, was linked by tunnels with living quarters etc for the regiments of soldiers manning the forts. There were also store rooms etc. At the surface, between the forts were machine gun, mortar, and small arms defensive enplacements. The Line was named after the French Minister of Defence who proposed the idea, Andre Maginot. The Maginot Line (which proved futile in use), has been mostly forgotten since the fall of France in 1940, but which has begun to be excavated in recent years and will be opened to the public as a museum with tours etc. Such a valuable National Inheritance should be brought back to display in my opinion. CommentThe allies put great faith in the Maginot line stopping any invasion in its tracks. However, as the above answer states, in reality when the crunch came it proved useless because the Germans simply went round it!

Can you assist in providing a value or appraisal for a fabrique nationale d'armes unies side by side 28 ga shotgun?

The value will depend on the exact model, features, and condition - information not provided and impossible to adequately describe. The shotgun must be appraised in person by someone who is familiar with guns and, preferrably a collector of FN shotguns. I suggest that you contact a local gunsmith or , by going through the local gun shops, locate a shotgun collector who is willing to appraise it.
