In Sept 2005, google indexed about 8 billion pages. They stopped advertising their index size on their search page since then.

Also, the same blog says that few billion new pages are added to the internet everyday. Due to auto generated content on the web, the size of the web is not easy to determine anymore, and can be said to be infinite from some points of view.

The traditional organization structure had an advantage because it made it easier to know who the higher ranking people are and to maintain discipline of the people who had to follow instruction. Google is a compound search engine giving information on all items. To use Google, just simply go to Google's Home Page and type in a word and it will provide many websites that are related to your requested search.

WARNING!! Don't play around in the registry. If you don't know what you're doing, you can (and very likely will) break stuff, sometimes beyond repair. Ok, now that the disclaimer is out of the way...

Delete Specific Items:

Go to Start --> Run --> Type "regedit" in the Run dialog box.

When in the registry, browse to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Explorer>RunMRU.

Delete the desired entry(ies) by right-clicking, and selecting "delete", or just highlight it and press the delete key. Click Yes to confirm. Double click the MRUList value and remove the letter(s) that you deleted from the list. Click OK. Close Registry Editor. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Disable History:

Go to Start --> Run --> Type "regedit" in the Run dialog box.

When in the registry, browse to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Explorer>RunMRU.

Right-click the key RunMRU and choose "Permissions...".

Click "Add...".

Type "Everyone" and hit OK in the box that pops up.

Back in the Permissions (Security) dialog, choose Everyone then deny Read access.

Click OK.

Close Registry Editor. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Alright. This largely depends on what you are trying to search for and what kind of search engine you're using.

With something like Google, I would add more qualifiers. For example, say I searched "Howl." I would get a lot of results. But if I searched "Allen Ginsberg Howl" I would get far less results, and I would get ones far more on topic. You can also use the Advanced Search option on google, which allows you to eliminate certain words or look for website in certain countries.

Also, using quotation marks around a title or two words you want together will VASTLY limit your results. For example, if I'm trying to find the book "A Separate Peace" typing it with those quotation marks won't just search for all those words, but those words in that precise order.

If you are looking for information that is more academic or specific, you might want to try using a different kind of search engine. At you local library, a librarian can help you search for an academic text or academic information. You can search certain academic databases if you're a college student, for example.

Removing labels on Gmail with IMAP is easily, in the setting section, goo.gl/UwSRYx choose the label and click delete option.
