No! They need to stay with the mother until they are weaned at about 21 days (for dwarf hamsters) and 28 days for syrian's. They need that time with their mothers.

Your mama hammy might not be eating them she might be stuffing her cheeks and putting them by her babies but it's ok for your hammy to eat bedding it's fine but if she is getting to much then that may be a bit of a problem then she might not like the diet she has or has trouble digesting her food, I hope this helps good luck

It would probably be best to not use tissues for the bedding. You should put some tissue for your hamster to use to make a nest, but not really as a bedding. It is not absorbent enough if there is too few and the hamster may have trouble walking around in the cage if there is too much.

I assume this is supposed to read "what vegetables and fruits can border collies EAT? The answer is, most any of them. Exotic fruits are expensive and unnecessary. My BC are on a raw food diet consisting of Europa, a packaged blend of fruit and veggies. I believe the main ingredients are sweet potatoes, apples, carrots, garlic, parsley, celery, .....if you do a search for Europa you should find the ingredients listed. I mix it with raw organic chicken liver and chicken hearts (MUST BE ORGANIC - too many pesticides and antibiotics in regular chicken). The quality of my dogs lives improved 200% when I switched them to this diet. I also supplement with coconut oil, sea salt, Chlorella and Missing Link. No people food. No grains.

Before finding Europa I used to make my own veggie mix. I used parsnips, carrots, beets, turnips, parsley (good for their bladder), garlic, apples, and some kind of green like mustard greens or collard greens. It took a lot of prep and was a lot more expensive.

This will depend on the individual veterinarian and the clinic he/she works at. There are some small animal veterinarians that will do house calls, although most small animal exclusive veterinarians work out of a single clinic. Also, not all small animal veterinarians are willing or competent to work on rodents - while the physiology is similar to cats and dogs, there are significant medical differences.

my hamster did the same thing he cleaned his change really good and gave him new water and food and that helped for a little but he died the next weekend when i went camping so just keep out on the look for you hamster!

they are excersising too much.

but she hasnt been excerising, she has been in her bed for 4 days, she is only nine months old as well. Her eyes are half open/closed and when she walks its really shaking and she isnt eating/drinking as much.

Some gerbils can live alone but some can not. Some gerbils live shorter lives without a cage buddy.

He most likely has ticks or fleas. Make sure he has clean bedding! One change per week should suffice. But now you must take him to the vet and see what's going on. They will prevent the situation from getting worse or spreading.

Wet tail is a disease for hamsters. It is almost like hamsters getting diarrhea. If not treated with drops or any medicine, it can be fatal. Fatal means that your hamster can die from this disease. My hamster, Nemo, has wet tail now, so everyday, twice a day, I have to give Nemo two drops of orange flavored wet tail drops.

If you notice your hamster has a wet bottom and/or has wet and/or strong smelling poo, go to your local pet shop and buy some medicine for your furry little buddy so you can keep a healthy, happy pet!

For the record, Nemo LOVES the drops and takes it as a treat. I feel bad for having to take the dropper away so I always make sure to give her a top favorite seed. But, do not just buy the drops as a treat because this will make your pet sick.

the lump could be a cyst, as they are common (especially with piercings). They're not extremely painful and usually go away in less than a few weeks. however, if you do have one, they are bound to reoccur again and again. They're not cancer, they're not tumors, and no matter what any one says (on the internet of course) they're not UFO implant tracking devices. :)

This happens occasionally. If the hamster is running fine and not showing an signs of pain (Example: Limping, Hunchback, Awkward Position when moving and/or sitting) it should be fine and you can just forget it ever happened. However, if it does show pain, take it to the vet.
