How do you care for a pinky without a mother?

Both rat and mice pinkies can be cared for without a mother, but it's highly likely they will not pull through. You will need to feed a mouse pinkie every hour to 2 hours during the day, no longer than 4 hours apart at night A rat pinkie will need to eat about every 2 hours during the day, no longer than 4 hours apart at night. You will need to buy milk replacer from the pet store, in the dog and cat section. I recommend KMR made from goat milk, I've had better success rates with it keeping rodent babies thriving than the cow milk based ones. A q-tip with the cotton pulled out a little bit and dipped in the milk is the best way to feed a mouse pinkie, the same can be done for a rat, without the need for pulling the cotton out quite so far. After each feeding you NEED to use a damp q-tip rubbed on their bellies toward the anus so that they can empty their bowels. They are not capable of doing this on their own, and this is why mother rodents lick their infant's tummy. You will need to replicate this. Do not stop until you see the rodent actually urinate and/or defecate, or it will die in a very short period of time from blockage. Keep the babies at a temperature of no less than 80 degrees, a warming bulb or mat from the pet store is the best way to accomplish this. Make sure if you use a bulb that is one of the ones that doesn't produce light. Good luck!

Why is your hamster breathing fast?

It may be excited. Most small animals breath rapidly when they are being held or if you are reaching out for them. It's not bad or contagious but if your hamster is breathing unevenly, bring it to the vet immediately!

Is it better to crush up a pill and put the powdered dust in a tiny strip of Kleenex then wrap it into a ball and quickly put it in your mouth and drink water or is it better to simply snort it?

Answer

It's better to take the pill ONLY AS DIRECTED. The reason manufacturers and pharmacists give you instructions is to tell you the BEST way to take a pill. The way you take it affects how well it works. Some pills need to disolve in your small intestine, some in your stomach to work best. Snorting anything is irritating to the lining of your nose. I've seen people with the inside of their noses eaten away from snorting then get upset when the doctor can't fix it.

Answer

oc's(oxycontin),dimerol, diladid all snortable anything else swallow.

This is all true, but to each his own, and the question was never actually answered. They say it's better to "parachute", the method you're talking about as opposed to snorting because by parachuting, it hits you almost as quickly as snorting does, and you feel the effects longer than you would snorting. Snorting feels good for about 30 minutes, then you're anxious for more. It's better to just avoid the rush so you never know how it feels like and enjoy the nice smooth ride of Oxycontin :) ...wish I practiced what I preached, lol. But I made the mistake of snorting and now I cant go back because I feel like I'm actually addicted to the preparation of getting the pills ready to snort as well as the whole snorting process. Not good! To make a long story short-- Just parachute it ;)

Can hamsters eat moss?

Hamsters should not eat moss, as it is not a natural part of their diet and may pose health risks. Moss can contain harmful substances or pesticides and may cause digestive issues if ingested. It's best to stick to a diet of high-quality hamster pellets, fresh vegetables, and occasional fruits for their nutritional needs. Always consult a veterinarian if you're unsure about what foods are safe for your pet.
