I don't believe it is if the bird was bred in captivity with no knowledge of the wild. What would it do if it's released into a nonative environment but die? Also, if it's a bird like a cockatiel, as long as you let it out, it's fine with being put in a cage. The only thing that's cruel is if you deprive it of food, water, or any other comfort it needs.
Can you keep a male and a female hamster together when she has her babies?
Male hamsters sometimes eat their young. I would suggest putting him in his own cage and keep the babies with their mother for the first 6 months or so.
Though, it also depends on the breed of hamster. Syrian hamsters cannot be kept with the female after they mate and give birth, because they'll eat the babies. Dwarf hamsters, however, can live amiably in groups, and the males actually help raise them. Also, depending on the breed again, I'm sure you can actually separate them earlier if they're weaned.

No this should never be done. Unless you have a huge aviary and i am talking like they have at zoos then each species should have its own cage. Also some species can never be caged with there own kind the small parrots called parrotlets will fight and kill another of its kind if it is same sex. What necessary equipment do you need to look after a hamster?
Hamsters are simple to look after. the must is a cage, make sure it is a decent size, also you must have a water bottle. i suggest a running wheel, and exercise ball and wooden toys to keep teeth blunt. for the cage you need news paper and sawdust, beds can be wooden boxes or you could buy one.kitchen roll tubes are great toys too. obviously you need food, but that's cheep!

You have to be careful what sorts of bedding you use for hamsters. Soft bedding can actually get twisted up and get caught around the hamsters intestines. Its better to buy bedding from the pet shops that are safe to use. The best sorts are the torn up jay cloth bedding.

The person above me is very right. Goldfish usually don't reach their full length because they die (cuz of small tanks, over feeding, and any other abuse) before they can. They never stop growing but their growing starts to slow down after a while. That's why it's 20 gallons for one goldfish and another 10 gallons for additional goldfish (3 large fancy goldfish in a 50 gal).
The two people above me are partially right. There is no record of any goldfish reaching 3 feet, only koi can attain a length that big. Goldfish are also capable of growing to their adult size (12 - 14 inches) in a 10 gallon tank as long as you keep the tank clean, warm and you put the goldfish on a varied diet. guinea pigs can learn all sorts of tricks if you teach them right. They can learn how to spin around to climbing up the stairs. The trick is bribing them with yummy foods. I have tried lots of times to teach my guinea pigs tricks but unfortunately they are not very interested in treats or other vegetables so i just use grass, simple yet effective. It really depends on your guinea pigs taste so try out different foods and if they take a liking to any of them, you have to (if you were trying to teach them to walk up the stairs for instance) put the food on the step in front of them and pat their bottom when they climb up the stair treat them with the food, do this again and again until you get to the top, but if the guinea pig squeals at all during this exercise take him/her away immediately.
Can a parrot be outside a cage?
It is fine for you to have only one parakeet in a cage, but only if you can spend alot of time around it. Just being by the cage and talking or doing something will be good for the bird. Also the bird will bond to you easier if you only have one!
If you dont have much time to spend with your bird then you may need to consider getting another so it wont be lonely
