Electroshock therapy is still practiced today, and there has been a resurgence in the technique in the last few years.

What could be wrong if you get severe headaches in the lower right part of your head several times a day and there is swelling during the headache?

It could perhaps be an allergic reaction, specifically to food. You could try cutting things out of your diet one at a time, such as dairy, soy, wheat and other common food allergens. If you've already gone to a doctor, that is. If not, scheduling an appointment with your doctor or finding a free clinic would be a good step as well.

Can you get a headache from looking at a crystal?

I don't think the problem is looking at the crystals. If the headache is continuous and when reading you might need glasses. Otherwise I think this bit of information will be of help to you. I don't know why, but when I go into a crystal shop I can only stay in the shop for several minutes then have to go outside. I start to get a headache, then it turns into a sharp headache and then get nautious all within the period of three to five minutes (about). I've had a couple people to tell me to bring my auric field in. You do that by visualizing your auric field and bringing it close to your body just like a glove. This works but every couple minutes I have to start over and bring the field in again. Try it, I hope it works for you. I've been trying to find out why some people are prone to headaches around crystals but haven't had any luck yet finding out why. Perhaps someone could shed some light upon that :) And if anyone has other suggestions please post!

What might have caused your older Golden Retriever's testicles to become swollen scabbed with pus and raw in just a few days?

This sounds like a bacterial infection. You need to take your Dog to the Vet immediately. Don't try to treat this yourself. This will be very painful for your Dog. With a clean gauze, wet it with luke warm water and gently (very gently!) wipe your Dogs testicles. Do not rub but wipe to clean away some of the germ present there. You need to contact your Vet now about this. Bacterial infections can spread to any part of your Dog's body.

What causes arachnoid cysts?

Arachnoid cysts arise mainly because of an abnormality occurring in development, sometimes as a result of a neonatal (newborn) infection. Other cysts are congenital (present at birth).

You were on a four day cruise and now you have dizziness and bad headaches what do you do?

You may be growing accustomed to being on firm land again. But since this dizziness is occurring with bad headaches and nausea, consider seeing your doctor as soon as possible, but this seems to not be an emergent issue. Call your local emergency room and ask a nurse to see what you should do.

What can you do if you've had sharp pains all over your body for many years and the doctors think you're crazy but the pain at times is from the tip of your toes to the top of your head?

Neuropathy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuropathy Y-THINK-Y Subluxation could be the cause. It is very important that you visit a Chiropractor to assess the problem. You can get x-rays and a detailed physical of your nervous system, spine, and overall health. A subluxation is when your spine is misaligned which causes either pinched nerves, damaged nerves, damaged discs, etc. Your nerves are like the life line to your organs. If it is pinched or not allowed to function 100%, then it is like pinching a water hose. Everyone can benefit from Chiropractic, especially you at this time. The sign of a good doctor is to listen to his patient! Keep moving and get another opinion. It's possible all it is would be a pinched nerve in your back, but one never knows. It could be many thing. Any doctor that poo-poos a problem such as yours isn't earning his/her money!

Is being bloated and gassy with extreme heartburn and cramps along with being extremely tired and having headaches and sore breasts three days away from AF even with a negative test signs of pregnancy?

I have never had any real symptoms until a couple weeks after a positive test... though I know some women do... though all those symptoms you have mentioned could also be premenstral symptoms... hopefully you will get the answer you want soon :) Yes this is signs of pregnancy but it can also be extremely bad PMS symptoms. Its best to wait till your late or a few days late for your period before you do a HPT.

Your head feel like is is going to exploed how do you make your headache go away?

I would not advise you to bang it against the wall a couple of times. Various types of painkillers are available: aspirin, ibuprophen, etc., but headaches can have a number of different causes, and many types of headaches do not respond to the usual over-the-counter pain medications. You might have to consult your doctor.

My friend has been diagnosed with swine flu I sit next to her for some lessons and I have been severely tired headaches diarrhea vomiting and aching muscles are these symptoms of swine flu?

Yes, those could be symptoms of influenza, but without a physician examination and lab testing there is no way to know for sure if it is the swine flu or seasonal flu.

A quote from CDC Information (see link below in related link section):

"If you live in areas where swine influenza cases have been identified and become ill with influenza-like symptoms, including fever, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, or vomiting or diarrhea, you may want to contact their health care provider, particularly if you are worried about your symptoms. Your health care provider will determine whether influenza testing or treatment is needed."

The clinics and doctors' offices are very busy screening for the potential 2009 Swine Flu in patients, if you have the above described circumstances and symptoms, telephone your health care provider for advice. Do not go to the health care provider location unless you telephone first. If you go unnecessarily, you risk exposure to the virus at the office when you may not have had it in the first place.

The only way to be sure it is the 2009 Swine flu is lab testing. If testing is advised by your care provider, the CDC describes the appropriate tests as:

"... a respiratory specimen would generally need to be collected within the first 4 to 5 days of illness (when an infected person is most likely to be shedding virus). However, some persons, especially children, may shed virus for 10 days or longer. Identification as a swine flu influenza A virus requires sending the specimen to CDC for laboratory testing." Update: there are now "field test kits" that the CDC has provided regionally for providers and labs to be able to do preliminary testing to detect the presence of Novel H1N1 cases.

* Not waking up or not interacting

* Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held

* Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

* Fever over 101 F (or fever with a rash)

In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

* Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

* Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen

* Sudden dizziness

* Severe or persistent vomiting"

What is a painless large indentation on the back top of the head?

We are so use to seeing bald-headed me with a perfect dome! LOL Not all men are lucky enough to have a perfectly round head and usually due to birth some people can have dents and bumps or even a flat back to their head (often thought to be the fact the mother kept the baby on their back too much.) It doesn't sound serious, but if it bothers you the next time you are in for a physical (you should go in once a year) then mention it to the doctor more or less to put your mind at rest.

Signs and symptoms of pyomyositis?

Pyomyositis is a bacterial infection of the skeletal muscles, which are attached directly to the bones in the human body. It is usually caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, the same bacteria that causes pneumonia and toxic shock syndrome.

Pyomyositis causes several symptoms, both in the infected muscle and in the body as a whole. The disease starts with a low-grade fever and pain in the infected muscle. As the disease progresses, the sufferer may feel severe pain in the muscle. Pus may be present in the infected area. If the disease is allowed to progress, the affected person could die.

What happens to a person who refuses to address their problems?

It means they are scared and don't really wanna talk about it. Don't press them. If you end up pushing them about it, they will entirely close up about it or never trust anyone.

The best option is to gain trust. By this, you are opening up doors to allow them to reveal their heart. BUT NEVER PUSH THEM ....they will eventually address the problem:)
