Why did the ancient egyptians use hieroglyphics?

It is very difficult to develop a writing system. At the time the Ancient Egyptians first used writing, nobody had thought of giving one symbol to each sound in the alphabet. They thought they needed a different symbol for each word. When that became too complicated, they used a combination of word-symbols and sound-symbols.

Their way of writing looks unnecessarily complicated to us, but it was an advanced and practical system under the circumstances. English is also an unnecessarily complicated writing system. We have 43 sounds represented by only 26 letters, and we don't even allocate those sounds consistently!

Slaves, on the other hand, were of little or no importance in the ancient world. If something happened to them, they, or their services would be missed, but would also be replaced.

How do you make fake papyrus paper for projects?

Maybe this website might help: http://www.crayola.com/crafts/detail/egyptian-papyrus-paper-craft/

I have read about suitable papyrus substitutes made from corn husks, or iris leaves, or other suitable vegetable materials using pretty much the same methods as papyrus manufacturing, only substituting these materials for the papyrus itself.

I have not yet tried this myself, but plan to some time in the future.

I have read that even the papyrus scrolls you buy on the street in Egypt are more than likely made of these materials instead of true papyrus. They suggest going to a reputable shop for the real deal.

How does hieroglyphics help people?

heiroglyphs was the written language of egypt and other places due to expansion.

that means it helped people to understand what other people wanted to say, basically every thing that modern people use writing for. People from other places didn't understand what the hieroglyphs meant until researchers found the rossetta stone, which was a stone of a constitution of some sort for egyptians and it had 3 different languages written on there that said the same thing. I think the 3 languages were egyptian, greek, and english. That is All I have.

What were the ancient Egypt months called?

When used in dates on official inscriptions the 12 ancient Egyptian months were not named. Instead they were numbered within each of the 3 seasons: for example first month of Akhet, third month of Peret, fourth month of Shemu.

The months did have names, but these were not fixed over time and were different in the Old Kingdom than in the Middle Kingdom. In the Late Period, the Greek and Roman versions of the names of months were different again.

Month..................Old Kingdom Name..................Middle Kingdom Name

1..........................Tx.............................................Dhwt

2..........................Mnht.........................................Pnibt

3..........................Hwt-hr......................................Hwt-hr

4..........................Ka-hr-ka....................................Ka-hr-ka

5..........................Sfbdt.........................................Ta'b

6...........................Rxwr.........................................Mhyr

7...........................Rxnds.......................................Pnimnhtpw

8...........................Rnwt.........................................Pnrnnt

9...........................Hnsw........................................Pnhnsw

10..........................Hnthj........................................Pnint

11..........................Ipthmt......................................Ipip

12..........................Wprnpt.....................................Mswr'

Hieroglyphs did not write vowels, only consonants (the a and i letters represent Egyptian sounds that do not exist in English), so we can not know how any of these names were said.

The name Wprnpt (month 12) is written with signs meaning the festival of the New Year.
