You home theater speakers are crackling What should you do?
The most common cause is bad wiring. Check the connections or replace the speaker wiring. If that does not work, check which speaker has the problem and see if a cone is blown. To do this, place your ear near the cone and gently press it in (don't push to hard). If the cone is blown you will hear a raspy rubbing sound when the cone moves. Replace the cone or the speaker if it is blown. If this does not work, change your speaker connections around to see if it is the amplifier.

What are the difference between Home theater projectors vs data projectors?
There is very little difference between theater and data projectors. They each use similar technology, each have similar inputs, image processors, lamps and lenses. In fact, many projectors classified as a home theater projector are used for data projection and data projectors are seen doing good service in a home theater. The differences tend be in the way a projector is optimized. Home theater models will be displaying video content rather than computer data. The image processor will be tuned to perform well with moving images rather than static images. Color control is adjusted to offer the best performance for content such as flesh tones, shadows and highlights. A data projector will be less concerned with such details. The way the projector operates may be slightly different. Data projectors often do not have user settings for color tuning, picture-in-picture, gamma controls (a dynamic contrast control). A good theater projector will have a component signal input while a data projector may only have a VGA input. Data projectors are likely to have a DVI input compared to theater projectors which will tend towards HDMI connectors. More important than any of the differences is the image quality. If a data projector delivers a great image from a DVD player, it should be considered along with theater projectors. After all, the sole purpose for a projector is to deliver a good image. It is enlightening to look at some manufacturers' websites. They often show different applications such as home theater, data, portable, education and so on. Many projector models will be found in several categories, demonstrating that even the makers can't precisely classify their own products.
Is a Sceptre flat screen TV a quality brand of TV?
Sceptre televisions are among the less expensive brands in the US market. They lack the clever features of the premium brands and the styling of their more expensive competition.
It is unfair to compare them directly to the likes of Sony, Samsung and Panasonic but they are generally regarded as good value for money. They are worth considering if you are looking to buy on a budget. They are likely to be as reliable as most other brands.
Before buying, take a look at them. If you like the image, they are worth considering.
Can you link Bose speakers to a samsung home cinema system?
Some Bose speakers are designed for computers. They have amplifiers built in and usually a table-top volume control. The Companion series is this type of speaker. Bose also makes speakers that can be connected to a home theatre system. These don't have amplifiers in them, except for the subwoofer. These are the Cinemate and Acoustimass systems. Many Home-Theater-in-a-box systems use proprietary connectors for the speakers and subwoofer, and cannot be connected to speakers for other systems or from other manufacturers.
Why does the right speaker on your stereo have static but the other one is fine?
There's a couple of things I can think of right away. First is loose wiring or wires touching each other (shorting), the other is that the speaker's blown.
Then if your stereo has rotary speaker select switches or pushbutton switches for input, bass boost, etc., they may be dirty. Try working them back and forth several times to see if the static clears up.
If not, you may just have a blown part in your pre-amp/amplifier which would require repair.

What screw size to mount your ermerson 40 inch tv?
Because of liability concerns, most manufacturers do not provide specifications on the size of screws or mounting instructions for their televisions. Virtually all TV wall mounts come with a large assortment of screws to fit all TVs with standard VESA mounts. A 40-inch TV will use a M6 (6mm metric) or M8 (8mm metric) screw. The mount will have these screws in various lengths. When you get the mount, use the longest screw possible that you can tighten by hand to hold the bracket to the back of the TV. Do not over-tighten, as you may damage circuit boards or even the LCD panel itself.

Why can't get any sound as TV is hooked up to a receiver?
Assuming you are connected to the audio output connectors on the TV, you might have to turn up the volume of the TV to get any audio to appear at the output connectors. If it is a high end set, go into the audio menu and switch the audio output to FIXED. This will give you full level audio at the connectors and then turn down the sound from the TV speakers. Don't use the internal speakers when using the sound system.
Do you need a sub-woofer for surround sound?
Not if you have full range speakers like tower speakers.
Even with large speakers, the surround sound mix is encoded with LFE (low frequency effect) sounds that would not be heard without a subwoofer.
