How do you replace antenna on 1998 Honda Civic?
Honda Civic Car Stereo Antenna Removal and InstallationCar Stereo Repair Home | Car Stereo Removal | BOSE repair | FAQ | Shipping | Top 10 | About Us
Broken antenna mast ! 1) Remove two screws securing antenna mast base to roof. 1) See car stereo removal instructions for removal of left dash panel.
2) Disconnect antenna lead, located at edge of side panel by fuse block. This saves removing the entire stereo.
3) Pull antenna cable free back to opening behind fuse block and trace up to opening. (Remember this spot!) 1) Pull old antenna and cable from top of car roof. Cut antenna lead and tape new lead to end.
2) Feed new antenna mast into opening while pulling old antenna cable from inside car, (reach back behind fuse block for antenna cable and pull through opening and back to connector.)
3) Push antenna mast completely to car body and tighten two screws.
4) Be sure to lower antenna next time through car wash.
How do you install horn relay on 2009 Honda Civic?

What are the symptoms of bad timing belt in 97 Honda civic?
Timing belts do not slowly go bad and lead to worsening symptoms. One minute the belt is fine, the next, it snaps and the car won't run. It is possible for the belt to jump a gear tooth if it is not installed properly, but this is apparent as soon as the new timing belt is on and you try to start the engine to test it out.
If the car won't start, it might be the battery or starter motor (it would sound weak)
try these first
If your car still won't start, it might be the timing belt, or the fuel filter (or pump)

How are Plugged In Hybrid good for the environment?
Because there using electricity instead of oil.
Electricity can come from many sources- Solar, Wind, Water to name just a few and those are a lot less polluting than Oil. (untrue)
Above is the common misconception. An electric car runs off of a plug and can get a few dozen mile trip in each day, with enough batteries. These cars do help to some slight degree with environmental issues, but are not hybrids.
Hybrids are autos that run from two fuel sources. Normally, production autos use gas and electric as their two fuels. Graders and construction equipment can be hybrids using diesel and gas.
Hybrids do nothing in terms of positive impact on the environment, but do help slightly with our dependence issue on foreign oil. It is quite possible that hybrids are worse for the environment then conventional autos of the same size due to their shorter life span and the wildly bad chemicals used in their production.
Batteries are never an issue for these auto's as the lead and plastic is recycled. The issue is the gases and chemicals used to make the extra electrical components.
How do you engine swap a Honda Accord f22al motor into a 1990 Honda Civic HB?
Yeah, don't bother with the F22A1, it's a lousy engine. The H series heads will bolt directly on however, regardless of if it's DOHC or SOHC. Look up G23, it's a combination of a F23A1 block and a H22 VTEC head. It makes the same power as a K series at 1/3 the price
dont even bother just put a b series in it and its a direct mount just change the motor mounts. did it on my civic defentaly worth it
How do you change the alternator for a 1992 Honda Civic?
Here are the relatively easy steps I took. The alternator is difficult to access, and cannot be removed without removing something--preferrably the easiest thing. # Turn the steering all the way to the left (makes things easier) # Disconnect the battery ground wire. # Jack up the car and remove the front driver's side wheel. # Remove the 2 alternator mounting bolts. Access to top bolt from top, bottom bolt from underneath. # From top or underneath (both are difficult access), rotate alternator so you can remove all the wiring (one plug, one wire wired to the post, and one retaining clamp on the back). # From underneath, move alternator back behind the engine to clear it from the alternator mounting bracket. # From underneath, remove alternator mounting bracket. Two 14 mm bolts (need a socket for one of them). # From side, in wheel well, unscrew back-most plastic screw holding front inside wheel-well splash guard on. # Pull Alternator out just behind the splash guard, flexing it out as you go. # Put the new alternator back in through the same hole. # Set the alternator aside and put the alternator mounting bracket on--tighten it up because you won't be able to access one of the bolts once you put the alternator on.
Notes:
You might want to make sure that the new alternator will fit in the mounting bracket while both new alternator and bracket are off the car. Sometimes the bolt sleeve in the bracket can be too tight and need a little tap to move it out.
You will probably lose the wheel well nut behind the plastic screw retaining the wheel well splash guard; mine fell into the body frame, never to be seen again. To fasten it back, I just used a pinched piece of coat-hanger wire to hook the wheel well back in place and then put some silicone on the hole so that water didn't go into the hole.
How much should it cost to replace rear bushings in a Honda Civic?
I don't know how much it should cost, but I know what it did cost on a 2000 LX model. At a Honda dealer in Bethesda MD the price is $587 parts and labor. I am sure that comparison pricing would result in a lower cost to the consumer.
just recently (feb 2011) replaced 2 bushings on my 2000 lx civic. pepboys wanted ~$450 for labor and parts. cost me about $400 (labor and parts) by bringing it to local mechanic instead. (south eastern PA)
