Be sure to check with your doctor regarding the instructions for taking the medication...it is often helpful to take medicine with milk or with food but either one can interfere with the effectiveness of the medication. That's why it's important to ask the doctor or pharmacist. Using a medicine dropper helps too, because you have more control over the amount and it can be put directly in the back of the throat.

I am not a Dr. but I do not have a functioning endocrine system and take 225 mcgs of synthroid a day. I would look at other drugs that suppress the respiratory system such as Soma. I'm almost positive that if you took a months supply of synthroid all that would happen is you will feel extremely hyper and nasaeus, and then go to the ER, and I would suspect you will feel terrible for several days

Hmmm, well you drank a lot of poison and it makes you feel lousy. Understanding what causes the hangover can help in understanding how to cure it. Your body is able to break down a lot of toxic substances (like alcohol) and convert them to harmless (or at least less harmful) ones. Those are collected by the kidneys and flushed away. This requires water. Water is also broken apart into it's hydrogens and oxygens so that they can be attached to the toxic molecule in the process of converting it to something else. Various other chemicals can also get involved in this. Your body is also working hard to clean away cells that were killed by the alcohol and provide energy to damaged cells so that they can repair themselves. You need water, electrolytes and food. Pedialyte or a generic brand is a perfect replacement for lost fluids and lost electrolytes. Gatorade, water and juice just won't cut it. The sugars in Gatorade can be dehydrating if you aren't running a marathon, juice is also quite sugary. None of them contain electrolytes. You need these salts if you want your nerves to be able to send signals. You lost quite a few of them through sweat, urine and possible use in detoxifying your bloodstream. A slightly less ideal option would be to drink a LOT of water and eat something salty. You will want to eat complex carbohydrates to provide some much needed quick energy for your cells and some proteins so they can use the amino acids to built up what has been broken down. Like toast with peanut butter or cereal and milk. You do not want to eat sugar which can deydrate or fats which are hard to digest and require a lot of (you guessed it) water and speciallized chemicals. Your body is busy enough. Try to get at least 8oz of fluid in every hour for the first four hours you are awake. Not to be graphic but you want to be urinating a light yellow-clear fluid. CODYDROMOL IS PARACETAMOL (a.k.a. acetaminophen, Tylenol) mixed with dihydrocodeine tartrate. It's basically a "boosted" Tylenol. Ibuprofen (a.k.a. Motrin) is also a pain reliever (non-narcotic), but it differs from Tylenol because it is an NSAID (having anti-inflamatory) properties. Before you mix both types of pills, you really should ask your doctor or your pharmacist.

Paracetamol should always be the first choice as it has fewer side effects than ibuprofen. It is therefore better to take paracetamol first and then use ibuprofen 2-3 hours later - but only if the paracetamol has not worked in controlling your symptoms.

You need to separate different types of pain medication. In this case, you can use the "Three Hour Switch" that doctors explain to all parents. I have been taking 6 @ 200 mg tablets of Ibuprofen daily for a week because of lower back pain. My wife and I have both noticed a different odor distinct from body odor typically associated with the underarms. It's a different odor, more like a musty towel smell, and definitely can be smelled through the skin and on the breath. I can only attribute this to the Ibuprofen I've been taking, all other dietary, bathing, clothes washing, and exercie regimens have remained the same.

Advil actually can make your period worse! Told by the doctor today never to take advil, aleve, and etc for cramps. It can cause a great deal of blood lost.

Who's your doctor? This isn't true. Advil is the same thing as ibuprofen which is an anti-inflammatory. Aspirin thins your blood but advil and aleve slow down the contractions of your uterus, helping with cramps and lightening the flow. You can safely take 3200 mg of advil in a 24 hour period, or 4 200 mg tablets every 6 hours to help lighten your period. Tylenol helps with pain but I'm not sure if it helps with the severity of the bleeding, and aspirin will definitely make your period heavier since it will be thinning your blood.

ADDING TO THIS ANSWER:

Umm...actually my doctor prescribed Naproxen (which works somewhat like ibuprophen) SPECIFICALLY to decrease my flow. It is an antiprostaglandin (meaning it counteracts prostaglandins - the things that cause the bleeding) which slows down the flow. AND he told me that if I were to run out and forget to fill my prescription in time, I could use (a specific recommended dosage of) any ibuprophen product which would ALSO reduce the flow.

It will NOT work to completely stop the flow - besides possibly temporarily if you are on a higher than normal dosage.
