What is Writers Identification?

Writer's Identification is a handwritten (and often stylized) depiction of someone's name, nickname, or even a simple "X" that a person writes on documents as a proof of identity and intent. The writer of a signature is a signatory.

Can you apply for a passport with your deed poll documents?

Yes - the Identity & Passport Service will accept a deed poll as proof of your change of name.

However a deed poll is not a proof of identity on its own. You'll still need to send in your birth certificate (or your previous passport, if you've got one).

If you've changed your name by deed poll, your new passport won't mention your old name - it'll only mention your new name (as stated on your deed poll).

Can New York City agencies require that a resident obtain a New York City Identity Card in order to obtain services or benefits?

Although New York City agencies can require residents to present identification, they cannot by law require that the identification be in the form of a New York City Identity Card. Residents may present other forms of state issued or federal issued identification.

Is a statutory declaration change of name the same as deed poll?

A statutory declaration is not exactly the same as a deed poll, but they're very similar in purpose.

Both types of document do the same thing (legally change your name), and they're both accepted by all government bodies in the UK as proof of your change of name.

A statutory declaration is a solemn declaration of fact. It's an imprisonable offence in the UK to knowingly make a false statutory declaration. A statutory declaration needs to be made in front of a solicitor, notary public, or Commissioner for Oaths.

A deed poll, on the other hand, is a legally binding commitment to change your name for all purposes. It doesn't need to be witnessed by a solicitor.

How strict are fake ID laws?

Fake ID laws are pretty much the same everywhere in the US. In most places, possession of a fake ID is a misdemeanor, and can be punished by a max of 1 year jail and $1,000 fine. However, most judges will give a lesser sentence if it is your first offense, such as a fine with no jail time. The bigger problem is if you are going there on vacation, you would probably have to go back later for court.

It isn't the laws themselves that matter here, so much as enforcement of those laws in the specific bars or clubs that you are seeking to commit the crime in. Regardless of how tough the law is, if the establishment does not turn you in to the police, it doesn't matter.
Using a fake ID is illegal.
Yes. The act of using a fake ID is fraud, whether you are committing identity theft or simply trying to trick some merchant into violating age laws.
If you use false identification to purchase alcohol in NY you could be charged with a misdemeanor or a felony. What does identification mean?

The phrase "identification defenses" is a bit hard to pin down, out of context. The most likely interpretation is, someone in some situation does not wish to be identified, and therefore has some kind of mechanism that conceals his or her identity (such as a mask, or a false name). But there are other possible meanings, depending upon context. It could also be part of someone's defense system that they have to identify people (possibly by the use of identification cards or passwords). I can also imagine a court case in which a person claims that he or she did not commit a particular crime and that he or she has not been correctly identified.

Can you get a discount on the New York City subway with a student ID?

Not exactly, no. Student Metrocards are available for kindergarten through 12th grade students. There are no Student Metrocards for college students. And your school gets the card for you. You do not get it directly from the MTA-NYCTA (Metro Transit Authority, which is the New York State transit authority, and New York City Transit Authority, which is a sub-division of the MTA).

You certainly cannot present a student ID at the subway station and get a discount on your Metrocard, not least because most stations do not have full-time tellers (or any tellers at all), only Metrocard machines. So there is no one to show your ID to, anyway.

Student Metrocards offer either half-fare or full-fare discounts, depending on how far you have to travel to and from school. They can be used only on school days, and only 3 times a day.

What should you do if your date of birth is wrong on your Kukkiwon certificate and card?

I'd discuss it with my teacher first. It shouldn't make a major difference in most cases, unless the age is off by more than a year or two. And you can always contact the Kukkiwon and make arrangements to have it re-issued, but the cost and time may not be worth the effort.

I would wait until my next test and correct the information then.

What are Categories of documentation for ID card issuance?

Categories of documentation for ID card issuance typically include proof of identity, which may consist of a birth certificate or passport; proof of residency, such as a utility bill or lease agreement; and, in some cases, a social security number or other government-issued identification. Additional requirements may vary by jurisdiction but can also include application forms and photographs. It's essential to check specific guidelines provided by the issuing authority for accurate documentation requirements.

What do you need to get a New York State ID card?

If you've never had a New York State ID or Driver's License before, then you need proof of your date of birth, your Social Security Card, and 4 "points" of proof of name. If you're not eligible for Social Security, then you need 6 points of proof of name (plus proof of date of birth), and a note from the Social Security Administration explaining why you are not eligible.

Different forms of proof of name are worth a different number of points. For example, a major credit card counts as 1 point. A U.S. Passport is 4 points. A foreign passport is 3 points. A Permanent Resident Card is 3 points. A Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalization is 3 points. A Welfare card with photo is 3 points; without photo, 2 points. A U.S. college ID with photo and transcript is 2 points. A U.S. utility bill or Union card is 1 point.

You can access the complete forms explaining what you need at the Related Links below. The first is the NYS DMV homepage, the second is the page where you can download the forms.

Is it acceptable to use an aka signature when the name on a borrower's id card does not match the name in which the documents are drawn?

The name of the borrower should be correctly stated on the loan documents. It should match the name of the owner of the property that is being financed. The borrower should not sign another name because of the lender's error. That would make the error worse.
