You can artificially increase the resolution of a jpeg image in Adobe Photoshop, but there will be a loss in quality because data is "invented" through a process called interpolation. A low resolution image only contains X amount of data, and to increase its resolution, you are telling the computer software to add nonexistent data to the picture file. This is generally ok if you're only increasing the resolution by 10% for general print purposes, but to make a dramatic increase in resolution such as 72 dpi to 300 dpi, the image will most likely artifact (pixelate).

The best and obvious solution would be to acquire the original image.

If you're sending it from your phone all you need to do is when you're sending the text with the picture in it then just use your e-mail address instead of a number.

If you're sending it from your computer to your e-mail (for some odd reason) then just add the picture as an attachment.

Photo manipulation.

In a broader sense, not a definition, it is manipulating an image to enhance it or remove unwanted parts.

GIF is a relatively old format that has three advantages over some other graphic formats:

- size since it only stores a maximum of 256 colors

- it allows for animated images (mng tried to be its successor, but is not so wide spread as gif)

- due to its "age", it is supported by virtually any graphic application

The JPEG/EXIF file format is optimized for storing photographs like images. It uses lossy compression, RGB, 8 bit per channel, no support for transparency or multiple images, 2D images support. The files are small and as long as the compression is not too great the image quality is almost identical to the original. JPEG images are very common, being supported virtually by every imaging device and image processing software. Due to their small size are ideal for storing, transmitting and embedding photos or similar images.

Well, there are lots of programs and of course there are many really decent examples among them. Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are the giants that hold the industry and make the standards for others to follow.

Lots of companies follow their experience and also add some new features thus creating good programs for photographers. Photoworks, Capture One, Affinity Photo, Luminar 4, Photodiva and many others can be decent competitors for the Adobe products.

sometimes videos have a hard time loading, or a lot of people load them all at the same time, so then it makes the video being loaded to freeze or take a long time. Also, if you have a lot of big programs running at the same time, that can slow your computer down, allowing your video to not work right. Video program are large size in general because it carry graphic and sound trac together. Therefore your equipment must be fairly new and also the internet connection must be high speed. I think for dial up connection, video will play interrupted often

Use the Insert > Movies and Sounds function from the pull-down menu. Find your video clip from your hard drive, then size and place it on your slide. Depending on your version, the program may also ask if you want the clip to play automatically, or on a mouse click. One thing to always remember with video clips is that Powerpoint DOES NOT EMBED the video clip to your .ppt file. It only LINKS the clip. Therefore, if you ever show the Powerpoint presentation from another computer, the video clip MUST be in the SAME folder as the .ppt file or the link will be broken. This is a very common mistake for Powerpoint users. That same rule applies for audio files over 100kb.

You can use Zoom Tool which is located at Tools palette on left side of screen (press Z on keyboard to activate it), or by keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl + ( + ) to zoom in and Ctrl + ( - )to zoom out.

Depends what you mean by clone. You can use the 'lasoo' tool or any other select tool and copy and paste it easily as long as it is not a lineart layer. It will always make another layer with the pasted copy.

If the laptop has a CD writer, you can write the picture files to a CD and then load the CD into the desktop PC and transfer the files to the hard drive.

If you can't write a CD with the laptop, you might email (send) the files to yourself and then read the email and download the files with the desktop.

Also, Yahoo (and other sites) offer some free storage so that you could upload files from the laptop and download them to the desktop using your web browser.

Have you tried www.cnet.com . Once you're in, search for "free photo shop software". You'll get a list of different software available. Make sure to check it with your virus scann (viruses or spyware may always be an danger). The software there will not always be the best, since they give you promos most of the time, but it won't hurt to check it out.

Photoshop has a wide range of tools, which allow you to manipulate or create your own image. You can crop, rotate, change the colour or style, and plenty more useful tools. It's ideal for touching up photographs. There are different types of selection tools that are great for just editing a certain area. the best way to understand photoshop is to open an image and then play around with each tool individually, and get a feel for what it does. If you need help on a particular tool i can try and explain how it works and what it does. Note: Photoshop works in layers, which are very handy once you've made sense of them. i hope this is of some use :)

A "raster scan" display is what you are most probably looking at right now. The image is constructed of many small dots. In modern color displays each dot is made up of a red, a green, and a blue component.

Vector displays shoot a beam that sweeps over the screen . One example that you may have seen is an oscilloscope. There the beam of electrons is deflected by electrically charged plates to change it's direction. there are no pixels per say in a vector display.
