Where do most shiites live?

They live in Southern Iraq all around the cities of Basrah and An-Nasariyah. I know this because I was deployed to the part of Iraq and it was Shiite territory. The other two major groups are the Sunnis and the Kurds. Sunni's live more central, west and north (Sunni Triangle) more so in major cities like Baghdad and other urban areas. Kurds live in mountain areas close to Turkey and also by the Iran border as they still have battles with the Iranians.

What argument split the Muslim world into two groups?

who is the true political leader of Muslim community after death of prophet?

shia says it is Ali (PBUH) because prophet appointed him in ghadir event.

sunni says it is AbuBakr because people agreed on him.

What is the argument between shia and the sunni?

there are two problems of succession and authority between shia and sunni . in accordance with the islamic teaching which form its basis , shiism believed that the most important question facing islamic society was the elucidation and clarification of islamic teaching and the tenets of the religious sciences . only after such clarifications were made could be application of these teachings to the social order be considered . in other words , shiism believed that , before all else , members of siciety should be able to gain a true vision of the world and of men based of the real nature of things . only then could they know and perform their duties as human beings-in which lay their real welfare-even if the performance of these religious duties were to be against their desires . after carrying out this first step , a religious government should preserve and excute real islamic order in society in such a way that man would worship none other than God , would possess personal and social freedom to the extent possible and would benefit srom true personal and social justice .

these two ends could be accomplished only by a person who was inerrant and protected by god from having faults . otherwise people could become rulers or religious authorities who would not be free from the possibility of distoration of thought or the commoting of treachery in the duties placed upon their shoulders. were this to happen , the just and freedom-giving rule of islam could gradually be converted to dictatorial rule and completely autocratic government.

moreover , the pure religious teachings could become, as can be seen in the case of certan other religious , the victims of change and distoration in the hands of selfish scholrs given to satisfication of their carnal desires . as confirmed by holy prophet , Ali followed perfectely and completely the book of god and the tradition of the prophet in both words and deeds. As shiism sees it, if, as the majority say , only the Quraysh opposed the rightful caliphate of Ali, then that majority should have answered the Quraysh by asserting what was right. they should have quelled all opposition to the right cause in the same way that they fought against the group who refused to pay religious tax . the majority should not have remained indifferent to what was right for few of the opposition of Qurayesh .

what prevented te shiaah from accepting the elective method of choosing the caliphate by the people was the the fear of the unwholsome consequences that might result from it: fear of possible corruption in islamic government and of the destruction of the solid basis for the sublime religious sciences.As it happened,later event in islamic history confirmed this fear or predication , with the result that the shiites became even firmer in their belief . during the earliest years , however, because of the small number of the followers , shiism appeared outwardly to have been absorbed into the majority , although privately it continued to insist on acquiring the islamic sciences from the household of the prophet and invite people to its cause. At the same time , in order to preserve the power of islam nd sfeguard its progress, shiism did not display any opposition the men of islamic society.members of the shiite community even fought hand in hand with the sunni majority in holy wars and participated in public of affairs . Ali himself guided the sunnu majority in the interest of the whole islam , whenever such actions was neccessary.

What is the difference between God in Judaism and Islam?

Answer AThere is only one God, the one and the only one God to be worshiped according to any heaven-sent religion.. This is the basic objective of God revelations to all prophets including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isac, Ismael, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus until Mohamed (peace upon all of them). All prophets, from the creation of Adam to last prophet Mohamed, are calling for full submission (that means Islam in Arabic) to the one and the only one God.

Judaism is the religion according to God revelation to Prophet Moses. Christianity is the religion according to God revelation to Prophet Jesus. The very name Islam is the religion according to God revelation to Prophet Mohamed.

Some Christians believe that Jesus is God or son of God. This is not the case in Islam religion.

Jesus was born as miracle by the word and command of God. This command is, as said in Quran, the same command that had brought Adam into being with neither a father nor a mother. The God command was to Adam as well as to Jesus is "Be!" and he came into being.

During the prophetic mission of Jesus (peace be upon him), Jesus performed many miracles by God's will. God tells us that Jesus said:

"I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you the shape of a bird out of clay, I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God's permission. I heal the blind from birth and the leper. And I bring the dead to life by God's permission. And I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses...."(Quran, 3/49)

In ,Quran there is a complete chapter titled 'Maryam' (Mary) that confirms Maryam virgin birth. The Quran states the following on the birth of Jesus (peace be upon him):

(Remember) when the angels said, "O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God). He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous." She said, "My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?" He said, "So (it will be). God creates what He wills. If He decrees a thing, He says to it only, 'Be!' and it is." (Quran, 3:45-47)

In Islam religion, Jesus (peace be upon him) is believed as one of the greatest prophets and one of the greatest messengers of God to mankind. So, Jesus (peace upon him) as messenger of God, believes, for sure, in God and the only one God. He never claimed that he is son of God or God and never called his followers to worship him. Surah 112 - Al Ikhlas THE PURITY OF FAITH

Say: He is God, the One and Only;

God, the Eternal, Absolute;

He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

And there is none like unto Him.

Answer B ( The Christian view)Jesus is ALL human and ALL God, in the Christian New Testament. Mary was conceived BY God, not Joseph, hence the term 'virgin birth'. Jesus is not a 'prophet of God' as described in the Muslim view above, but ONE WITH God, implying a shared personality, as well as with the 'Holy Spirit'- which is what distinguishes the Christian God: The three Persons ( or 'personalities' of God ) Jews and Muslims do not accept Jesus Christ as other than a prophet, and Christians do not accept Muhammed as a prophet- defined as 100% proven and infallible. Jesus performed miracles, including bringing Lazuras back to life. Only God can create life, so this miracle witnessed by 50 persons shows Jesus Godhood. If this question seeks to learn the difference- this is the correct Christian view.

Allaah has only recently been equivocated as the same God after the events of Sept. 11,2001 in the U.S. in an effort to prevent clashes between Muslims,

Christians and Jews in response to Muslim demands that equality be inferred.

The first commandment in Dueteronomy ,of the Old Testament revered as the inspired word of God in the Judeo Christian Bible is in Deuteronomy:

~Deut 5:6" I am the Lord thy God who brought you out of Egypt. 5:7You shall have no other gods before Me...

5:9 for I, the Lord your God am a jelous God..5:11 " You shall not misuse the name of the Lord, your God,for the lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

What does the Koran say about Allah?

Koran / Quran says: * Quran is the word of God who is the creator of everything we sense. * He made people born, He will make them die and will raise them up again for the their judgment. * human beings are created for a purpose to be tested against their deeds, hence they will be given actual beautiful life or actual worst life ever after the judgment. * Moses, Jesus, Mohammd (Ahmed) and many others (peace be upon them all), were all prohphets from Him. * All Prohpets were appointed to reestablish the actual religion (one religion i.e Islam/Peace) for human beings. * Some people obeyed prophet while others not. What is Muslim descent?

Since there are more than 1.6 Billion Muslims in every country on this planet, the proper answer is from "humans." But I think you mean to ask who are the Arab Muslims descended from? Arabs are descended from Abraham's first son, Ishmaeel (through wife Hagar). Thus the Arabs and Jews are cousins as the Jews are descened from Abraham's second son, Isacc (through Sarah). Abraham did have several other sons besides these two!

Why do people not accept Islam?

A:Let's take three examples:
  1. Hindus have their own gods, in which they believe just as firmly as Muslims believe in Allah.
  2. Christians believe that Islam was really developed from what Muhammad knew about Christianity and Judaism, and therefore that the Quran was not really revealed to him. After all, the cousin of Muhammad's first wife was a Christian.
  3. Atheists will never accept Islam, because they realise there is no God.

It is incumbent on the followers of all religions to accept the absolute right of others to believe as they wish.

Refer to questions below for more details.

Answer 3

It is a very complicated question to which the holy Qur'an gives the right answer. Shaitan and man's 'Self- Nafs'- are the two enemies of Man who try to lead Man astray, to lead him to the wrong path. Almighty Allah had been sending Prophets (1,24,000 in number) to preach to Man and guide people to the Right Path. But, unfortunately, most of the people didn't believe in the Prophets like Hazrat Noa, Ayyub, Abraham, Ishaq, Yaqoob, Saleh, Mose, Haroon, Jesus (May peace be upon them all). Similarly people don't believe in the last Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). Ironically, those who claim to be 'Muslims' don't follow the teachings of Islam. Are all the Muslims truthful, honest, earn livelihood through halal means, kind and sympathetic, sacrificing and loving? Do they avoid Usury, adultery, aggression, brutality, murder of innocent people? Similarly are all the Hindus true Hindus? Are all the Christians true Christians? Are all the Jews true Jews? Definitely the answer is a Big NO. Let us tolerate humans irrespective of their religion, caste or country. Let others have their way. Everybody is answerable to Almighty Allah for his deeds.

Answer 4

Since pretty much everyone in the world has access to what Islam offers and what Islam is, accepting Islam, if it is true, should be as easy as accepting mathematical truths (like how 2 + 2 = 4) and Imam Zakir Naik claims as much. Therefore it is a serious and worthwhile question to ask why people have trouble accepting Islam and Mohammed in a way that they do not have trouble accepting basic arithmetic. The following is a partial list of reasons that may be convincing:

  1. Islam has endorsed and openly practiced slavery. While the Qur'an does say that it is a good thing to free a slave, it does not call for the abolition of slavery. In fact, many Muslim countries, especially in West Africa are notorious for continuing to traffic slaves in 2012. There are an estimated 27 million slaves in the world today of which half live in the Islamic World (which is much less than a quarter of the world's population and even less land area).
  2. Most Islamic Clerics in the Middle East support blasphemy laws. These laws would seek to create a legal inequality between Islam and other religions. For example, a Muslim could denigrate Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Hindu, etc. practices and individuals and suffer no liability but arguing against an Islamic view would be met by harsh criminal penalties. This would violate freedom of speech and freedom of religion in the Western context. It is notable than a sizable minority of Western Muslims also support blasphemy laws, although the majority disagrees.
  3. Most Islamic Clerics in the Middle East and Africa support barbaric punishments such as chopping off limbs for theft, stoning women for getting raped, and numerous other actions which seem out-of-date to most Western individuals and to most East Asians. Western Muslims also find problems with these activities.
  4. Islam is not by its nature necessarily internally peaceful. Many Muslims hold to the idea that Muslim violence has only ever occurred in retaliation for actions done by non-Muslims. While that is certainly a notion worth challenging (How was Vienna, Austria repressing Muslims when Suleiman the Magnificent besieged it?), the unavoidable truth is that Muslim states have fought each other as well (which would bypass the non-Muslim violence issue). The Fitna Al-Kubra, for example, was a war that existed entirely within Islam. The Fatimid-Seljuk conflict was entirely between Muslims, many of the conquests of Tamerlane, which were egregiously bloody were of fellow Muslim territories, and the Almohads slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Muslims in peacetime for believing different than them. If the claim is that Islam creates peace and that is why a person should convert, the evidence to contrary seems difficult to swallow. (By the way, all of these violent acts occurred during Islam's periods of greatest strength and are not due to Western Imperialism.)
