Your iPod does have a setting called "Transfer Purchases" in which it will transfer all of the purchased content onto your new computer. But your iPod has to be hooked in and you might have to click on the transfer option a few times. And there is a special setting on iTunes called Home Sharing that also does this.

Ok, you go to file, look for the option to sync music onto your iPod (Nano, Touch, any kind) and click sync music and it will put all the music on the computer onto the iPod, no matter the type.
