there is a plug on the side of the transmission towards the drivers side of the car,a 3/8 ratchet will fit into the plug, the drain plug and fill plug are different,the drain plus has a magnet in the middle of it. it will hold just under three quarts of gear oil,i would only use synthetic to protect the transmission

I believe if you check just above the driverside rear tire you will see a cylendar with a hose coming in and going out of it this is your fuel filter. it is attached to the frame. look under your jeep and follow the hose coming from your gas tank to the cylendar, but be careful the gas will come out when you disconnect the filter. lol I got a eyefull literally.

First of all what is the problem you are having? The main thing the ECM on this vehicle is controling is the fuel richness. In other words if the ECM is not working then the jeep is either not running or not running well ie.. too rich (black smoke) or to lean. The stock carb is garbage and should be replaced with something like a motorcraft 2100 ( better than weber) and do nutter bypass. with # 49 jet should pass inspection. Nutter bypass will bypass ECM and run much better.

The transmission doesn't lose power, but it quits getting power if the clutch starts slipping. Without going into detail about the physics of a clutch, the most energy is being transferred through the clutch when in the highest gear thus it is fifth gear where slipping is first noticed. My guess is its time for a new clutch.

Yes, Plastic fuel lines can be repaired. They require a barbed fitting to be heated and forced into the plastic. The plastic tubing will shrink around the barbs when it cools. Vortech makes you alter your stock fuel system when installing their supercharger kits, and their solution is take a brass barbed fitting and put it in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then taking the fitting (holding it with pliers) and sliding it into the plastic line. Ford has a kit that just presses the fittings in while cold. They offer plastic fuel line repair kits at a local auto parts store which usually consists of such parts. The rumors of stuffing metal line and hose clamping it is just a band-aid over a bullet wound approach and is definitely not considered a suitable repair, contrary to popular belief. Remember most fuel injected cars run up to 70 psi feed pressure through the feed lines, and in most cases fuel pressure is regulated at the fuel rails and excess fuel is returned to the tank through the different line, effectively droping fuel pressure at the injectors, not the feed line.

There are 2 adjustment posts for each lamp inside the engine compartment. They're hexagonal and require the use of a socket to twist. Look for them on the backside of the headlight assy.

I don't know for sure where it is illegal, but I seriously doubt it, one standard thing all states want is side view mirrors though, you will need to get some relocation brackets and move them off the doors.
As a rule, if a vehicle has a removable top, and was designed to be operated that way, you can also remove the doors if they too are meant to be removed.As long as you have functioning safety systems like brakes, mirrors, bumpers, seat belts, you will be fine.

Mine is an I-6 and I use 10W-30. Takes 5 quarts.

If it is a 4cyl, it will probably take 4 quarts.

It is recommended in the lower states to use 20w50 (6 quarts) in the inline 6 4.0 or 10w30 (6 quarts)in northern states. The 4 cylinder on the other hand takes 10w30 (5 quarts) or 5w30 (5 quarts). Jeeps prefer a quality oil Castrol is what we use. Try to stay away from parafin based oils such as Penzoil.

if it is a 4 cylinder 5 speed probably 4.10 ratio.that what mine had in it but changed to 4.88

There should be 2 spring loaded adjustment screws, one on the top and one on the side. The top controlls up and down and the side controls left to right. The screws should be right on the back of the headlight housing.

Most commonly it is the ax15 5 speed mated to the 4.0

My guess is somebody probably spilled some liquid down from the cupholder. It got into the switch and is preventing contact. Remove the center console and get the the switch located at the base of the lever. Clean it out with some electrical cleaner and it should start working.
