How do you answer the question why you left your last job?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

"Why did you leave your last job?" You should always address an interview question with honesty. However, you should also always try to frame your honest answer in the most positive way possible. For example, if you felt underappreciated and underpaid at your last job, instead of ranting about your overbearing boss and underappreciative corporation, you might say that your prior work didn't allow you to grow professionally or intellectually and didn't offer advancement opportunity. Always keep in mind that your interviewer is looking for a positive, motivated, hardworking candidate. No potential employer wants to hear your gripe about a prior boss or talk poorly about a previous employer. She or he wants to hear about your potential as a superstar at the position you are seeking.

What kind of job can a 10-year-old have besides a paper route?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

wash cars, baby sit, mow lawns, lemonade stand, rummage sales, that's all i got

Several ways including

You are so young that I would suggest just asking your parents if you can help around the house for a little money, but if you realy want a proper job, then there are certain things you can do. These include:

  • ** Looking in newspapers/magazines/online (<------ BE VERY CAREFUL ONLINE AND ALWAYS TELL A PARENT/GUARDIAN WHAT YOU ARE DOING)
    • Helping around the house and/or doing extra jobs for family members
    • Placing adverts in shop windows (<---Do NOT give out any personal information and if you do, tell your parent/guardian.)
    • Post leaflets (make sure you have a licencse)

You can do household chores like:
  • Cleaning your room
  • Doing the dishes
  • Mowing the lawn
  • Watering the garden
  • Doing the laundry
  • Making your bed
  • Sweeping the floor

And/or you can help neighbors by:

  • Babysitting
  • Pet sitting
  • Mowing the lawn
  • Watering the garden
  • Getting the newspaper

Don't try lemonade stands: They cost more than the profit.

All of these are good jobs. Don't charge over fifteen dollars or you won't get the job. Ten dollars is the way to go.

Food related careers?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

When one takes a look around the typical grocery store, he or she might notice that the percentage of simple fruits, vegetables, and animal products for sale is simply not as high as it used to be. In today's times, people are generally far too busy to prepare all of their own food from scratch. Most citizens must rely on prepackaged, processed food to provide them with the nourishment that they need on a daily basis. This is where the work of a food scientist comes in. Food scientists perform extensive research in order to provide consumers across the world with the tastiest, most nutritious food products possible.

Food scientists must perform a variety of different tasks for the business, government organization, or research facility that they work for. Some food scientists develop new ways to package food that optimize freshness and retention of nutrients. Other scientists might be assigned with the task of improving food preparation techniques, such as providing a food manufacturer with an alternate method of drying that will preserve the end product for a longer period of time. A food scientist might study products at a molecular level, striving to learn more about the different nutrients that are available in various substances. Finally, some food scientists work for government organizations to inspect the safety and quality of various food preparation establishments.

In order to become a food scientist, one must first attend a four-year college and earn a bachelor's degree in a pertinent field of study. Ideal degrees would include a BS in biology, chemistry, physics, or agricultural science. More extensive education is required for those who wish to work in the field of food science research; generally, one must achieve a master's or a doctorate's degree in a related area of study in order to be eligible for such a career. Additionally, certain states require food scientists to be licensed in order to work in certain positions such as food inspection.

The starting salary for food scientists is typically about $34,600 per year. However, this salary will vary greatly depending on one's experience and specialization, and food scientists who possess a very extensive background in their field can earn up to $82,000 annually.

Can a felon get a job in the hospital?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The best bet is to call some of the places that are doing the hiring and ask them the question. If they say yes, ask what education they are looking for so that if you get the training, it is from a respected school. Remember that the schools are there to sell you the training, so their promise of placement help is not worth much.

However, all convictions must be disclosed; even if there was no jail time involved.

Looking for a welding job?

User Avatar

Asked by JonR

This sounds like the type of job that you would network or talk directly to the people in charge of the business. Brainstorm what companies would use welders (oil rigs, heating and ventilation, manufacturers, etc.) in your area and contact them all. It takes awhile for a job hunt to gather momentum, so you will have to get out and on the phone to make your contacts. Make sure you dress very nicely, have a basic resume and present yourself well. They may not have a job immediately, but most places get back with people who they think have promise.
