Do concession stands have to be inspected by a health inspector?

Yes, concession stands are subject to inspection by the health department if they are collecting money for profit. The local department will usually have a "schedule" of periodic inspections of different types, or may respond directly to complaints of unsanitary conditions. In some statutes, anyone selling food or beverages to the public is subject to health regulation and inspection, including any concession stands, caterer, church kitchen, farmers' market, grocery store or restaurant. Even a beverage or food vending machine may be inspected for health and safety compliance.

Whom did John McCain pick as vice president?

Sarah Palin John McCain's running mate is Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Palin thinks so little of America's perfection that she continues to "pal around" with a man--her husband, actually--who only recently ended his seven-year registration as a card carrying member of the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP).

AIP founding father Joe Vogler writes "I'm an Alaskan, not an American, I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."

Members of the AIP are urged to register as members of, and infiltrate the major political parties to achieve their aims to rebel against America and put Alaska First.

They appealed to the United Nations and claimed it was a violation of international law for Alaska to become an American State.

Putting plunder above patriotism, the members of this traitorous political party aim to break America into pieces and walk away with Alaska's rich federal oil fields. They claim to be the third largest political party in Alaska.

Todd and Sarah Palin attended several AIP conventions. Palin gave a speech earlier this year to the AIP convention, praising the good work being done by the AIP.

What cancer did John McCain have?

Yes, John McCain has been treated for skin cancer.

According to Reuters, Senator John McCain, who has suffered from skin cancer in the past, had a spot removed from his face on Monday during a routine checkup by a doctor in Phoenix. The Republican presidential candidate has already had four malignant melanomas -- a potentially lethal type of skin cancer -- surgically removed since 1993.

With election season heating up and election politics coming into full swing, skin cancer and melanoma may play a part in deciding on who is our next president. John McCain has been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma recently but more importantly has been a history of melanomas. The squamous cell carcinoma treated recently is a very common type of skin cancer appearing on sun damaged skin and is easily treated surgically and essentially cured. Melanoma, however, is a much more dangerous type of skin cancer and there will be discussion of this cancer as voters are concerned about the health of the candidates and want to know if the cancer can spread during the next several years. This is a valid concern and his personal physicians are discussing his health in the media. Let's talk a little more about his skin cancers so you can have more information to help you decide if this should affect your vote. John McCain has had 4 tumors treated that are classified as melanoma. Three of these are diagnosed as "melanoma in-situ," indicating that they were diagnosed early in that they were superficial and did not penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. This is important as melanoma in-situ is treated less aggressively as these do not spread to other parts of the body. The cancer that is the cause of cocern is the melanoma on his left cheek that was diagnosed and treated in 2000. This melanoma went fairly deep into the skin, with a depth of 2.2 mm. Because of this depth, it excised with wide margins and he had a lymph node dissection that showed that the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes and presumably not to any other internal organs. Because of these findings, it is classified as being stage 2, indicating that the tumor was greater than 2mm in depth without ulceration or spread to the lymph nodes or other organs. The five year survival rate of this stage melanoma is about 80%. So should we be concerned for his health as a presidential candidate? This is not an easy question with a clear cut answer. Overall, younger people have a better prognosis than older people, women have a better prognosis than men, and melanomas on the limbs have a better prognosis than those on the face. However, each individual is unique and the fact that he is cancer free 8 years later is a good sign that his deep melanoma is likely cured. But melanoma is deadly because it can reappear later without any warning on any internal organ. We hesitate to use the word "cured", as periodic tests are done to ascertain that there has been no spread although he appears to be "out of the woods."

Why did Barack Obama win the 2008 US Presidential election over John McCain?

The short answer is that a majority of the American people voted for him, both in 2008 and again in 2012. In 2008, Barack Obama was elected because the country was ready for a change and had grown very disillusioned with President Bush; his policies (such as the war in Iraq) had become very unpopular, and his party-- the Republicans-- was going through a number of scandals. As a result, many voters wanted to see someone who was not a Republican in office. They admired the Republican candidate, John McCain, who was a war hero, but thought he would just maintain the same unpopular policies as President Bush. Barack Obama was seen as someone new: he was youthful, an exciting speaker, he used social media very effectively, and he had a vision for change. In 2008, he became the first African-American president in U.S. history.

President Obama was re-elected in 2012, although it was a closer election. The reason was probably that Mitt Romney, his Republican challenger, did not run a very effective campaign. He was not a good speaker, he did not inspire excitement in voters, and the majority of the public believed he only cared about rich people. Further, the Republicans had moved so far to the right, especially on social issues, that many moderate voters felt they would be better off re-electing President Obama, even though they didn't entirely agree with all of his policies.

Yes. One attends the US Naval Academy and the other is a Marine in Iraq. Here is an excerpt from a Boston Globe article: Although his youngest sons are in the military - Jack, 21, attends the US Naval Academy and Jimmy, 19, is a Marine stationed in Iraq - John McCain is loath to invoke their names when he defends his foreign policy positions, even once when Jimmy was sitting in the audience before deployment. Is McCain a Freemason?

To be honest, I'm not entirely certain, I would however say that if he was/is it's unlikely to be unpublicized. He attended the American Naval College which have no outright links with pre-masonic or masonic organizations. Also, for some time now all Masonic lodges have had to openly provide the names of their lodges members, due to largely unproven social uncertainties and conspiracy theories surrounding masonic actions most politicians tend to avoid the label as they feel it could be damaging to their careers. Anyway. nothing seems to indicate he is one.

How was the death penalty created?

The death penalty was used as a deterant, to send a message that certain crimes carry the ultimate punishment. In 19th century America stealing a horse was punishable by hanging. It seems impossible that people were actually hung for stealing a horse.

Things have changed reguarding capital punishment. Most places a prosecutor can ask for the death penalty only if the crime was 1st degree murder with special circumstanses. Some states are reluctant to inforce the death penalty, for example California has many prisoners on death rows yet the state hasn't executed anyone for quite some time. Other states such as Texas, Georgia or Florida execute far more prisoners.
