What ocean did juan ponce de leon cross?
Ponce de Leon crossed the Atlantic ocean. He was one of the people who found Florida.
"In 1513, Ponce De Leon, the conqueror and governor of Puerto Rico, embarked on a search for a fabled fountain of youth. He never found it, but he did make the first Spanish landing on the mainland of North America. Perhaps because the land was in bloom with spring flowers, he called the land he discovered Florida."
He was the one who discovered Florida. I hope I am talking about the same Ponce de Leon you are talking about. :)
What has Ponce De Leon done in his life?
I did a project on Ponce De Leon once in 5th grade- and still remember the answers. These are some of the things I learned that he did in his life:
Juan Ponce De Leon journeyed from Euorpe to the "New World" or North America. He landed in Florida, but of course it had no name. Spain had sponsored his trip there, if you need know that. Anyways, he was looking for the Fountain of Youth, a "magical" fountain legend to make the elderly young again. But he died before he could find the mythical Fountain. However, he named the state we now know as Florida after flowers that were beautiful in his eyes. I have no idea what the flowers were named, but I'm sure it was Florida-somthing.
Did Juan Ponce De Leon have a birth certificate?
No. People in the 1400's were born at home. In some cases there is a reference to their birth in the church records of their parish church. Very often people did not know the date of their birth or how old they were. Events were associated with marriage, death, and birth. A person might say " I was born in the year when there was the big flood." or "when king Henry died." These things people would remember and could attach various events to them.
