There are two different types of steering fluid that are compatible with your vehicle according to the manual. M-III or DESRON-IIE and Dexron IIE ou M-III should both work in your Kia.

Best resource i have ever found for Kias and saved my butt when my mass air flow sensor died.

First, put on the emergency brake and jack up the vehicle to loosen lug nuts and remove the wheel. Remove the spring clips holding the retainer clips, and remove the caliper bolts. Use a short bungee to hook the caliper up on the spring, being careful to not damage the break line. Slide the old pad out, and the new one in after spraying it with anti-squeak spray. Bolt the caliper back down, place the old pad over the caliper pistons, and use a c-clamp to tighten down completely. Pump the brakes until solid pressure is felt.

== == Next, you have to remove the radiator hose. It's the same one that you might have drained out earlier. You'll be able to see the thermostat housing pretty well from here. Once you've got the rad hose out of the way, you need to remove the black plastic on the side of the housing. With that gone, move on to the nastiest part of the job. The three bolts on the thermostat housing. The first one is easy, it's the one closest to you. but the one on the back is a pain. You'll need to push some cable out of the way, and get at it with your socket wrench. After this one, move on the the worst of the three. You'll have to do this pretty much by touch alone. Last time I did this it was in my driveway in about -18`C weather. Brrr. Don't let it frustrate you, it'll just fall out of your hands and down into the engine components, or worse, into that pan full of coolant you probably left under the engine compartment, ha ha ha.

Alright, if you've gotten this far, you're at the easy part. Take off the housing, and remove the old thermostat. You might need to pull it out with a pair of pliers or something, if it was cold when you did this (as it should have been, don't need to get coolant burns), then it'll be held by suction. Change the thermostat's gasket, put the new one in place and reverse the process. It'll go back together 100x faster than it came apart.

Quite easy to remove/fit in a VW Sharan Nov 00 (New Shape) but be careful not to cause damage, especially to the dash facia which can easily crack. Obtain two small flat head screw drivers (or two strong knives or similar), open the cupholder and gently slip each one quite far into the top right and top left between the cup holder's mount and the dash. This is where the lugs are that hold it in. Once inserted gently pull/twist/jiggle the knives and cupholder until the cupholder and its mount slide out. There is no benefit in removing the radio below.

I have a 2003 Kia Sedona. The light was on, but my code reader would not read the code. So, I brought the car to the dealer who found the gas cap was loose (actually the retaining strap had caught under the cap). I would like to know why my code reader that I bought from Harbor Freight could not read the code (it said error). The reader works fine on America cars and Hyundai's. You bought A CODE READER!!!!! Not a scantool/it's like night and day. If it is a Vehicle manufacturer specific code it will not show on a aftermarket code reader unless you buy the good stuff!

Same thing happened to my 2003, less then a year after I brought it. The AC unit was burned out a week later. Seems to be a problem with the KIA ac units, don't let them lie to you at the dealer about it being your fault!
