When do baby gerbils stop breast feeding?
It honestly depends on the kits. As long as there is a need, the mom will produce milk. I guess te kits start switching anywhere from 2 1/2 to even a month. You'll see the kits start going over to the food bowl. Once in a while to try the food out. Just look for the obvious signs. Note: it is possible for the kit to get diarreah from the switch. I got scared at first it went away after a bit when my one switched. He breast fed for a long time. I lost track it was so long! Haha Good luck!!!!
What are the disadvantages of breast feeding?
The only time breastfeeding could be possibly bad for a child is if the mother is not healthy. A breastfeeding mother can pass on some infections to her child thru nursing. Also if the the mother does not have a nutritionally sufficient diet she may not be able to give her baby enough milk to grow and thrive. However if that is her situation, it would be most likely that formula is not available either. But without doubt, for the vast majority of the world's population, there is no substitute for breastfeeding. Mothers, by nursing your children exclusively for the first six months of their lives and continuing to breastfeed them for the next six months or more will immeasurably enrich their lives for years and years.
P.S. The only one who really gets hurt by breastfeeding are the formula factories.

Can you combine expressed breast milk?
You need to express breast milk between feedings when the baby will not be nursing. For example, if your baby feeds every 4 hours, you can manually express or pump milk 2 hours after the baby has eaten. This would also be 2 hours before your baby feeds again allowing for refilling of the breast before the next feeding. If your baby sleeps at a long interval at a certain time, such as nap or bedtime, you should try to express the milk then. After doing this for a few days, you will begin to produce more milk than your baby needs so you can start to store some.

Can you eat pineapple while breastfeeding?
There are very few limitations on what a nursing mother can eat or drink. Pineapple juice is yum, full of vitamins, will help you to keep up your fluid intake and is fine for mothers to drink. The only exception would be if there was a family history of pineapple allergy, where even if the mother does not suffer from the allergy it is best to avoid. If no such allergy, drink up and enjoy! However, babies should not be given pineapple juice, or any other citrus juice, directly until well after their first birthday because it is too acidic for their developing stomachs. Breastfeeding children can be given a little cooled boiled water with their meals once they start on solids after six months.
How do you get your breast milk to dry up if you no longer wish to breastfeed?
The easiest, least stressful way to stop lactating is by reducing the number of breast feeds you do each day - slowly. If they baby currently takes all their feedings at the breast - substitute one feeding for a bottle during the day. Wait a couple days as your production slows down, then drop a second feeding, repeat until baby is taking all their feeds by bottle (or cup if over 1 year old).
Doing this over the course of one to two weeks will make an easy transition for mom and baby.
If slowly stopping isn't an option and you have been nursing full time - you are probably going to face some discomfort for a few days. Use warm showers, warm or cool compresses as needed and a snug bra to help ease engorgement.
If your breasts become very swollen, stand in the shower with warm water pouring down and express some of the milk out by hand.

Can you scoop litter box while breastfeeding?
Since there are diseases a cat can transmit to humans, I would say no, both for the health of the mother and the baby. If you follow the proper precautions that everyone should use when cleaning a cat's litter box (breastfeeding or not), it will be safe to do so. Wear a dust mask (to prevent inhaling the litter dust) and wear disposable gloves. When finished, throw away the mask and gloves, and be sure to wash your hands thoroughly. The litter box doesn't pose any greater threat than the cat does if you follow the safety precautions.
How much milk do breasts contain?
It depends. Breastfeeding is based on supply and demand, meaning that in general the more often you nurse your baby or use a pump to remove the milk, the more you make. There are some cases where this does not work or only works to a certain limit. A woman will make as much milk as is needed or as much milk as she can.
The amount of milk you make also increases as your baby gets older and needs more. Often before a growth spurt, a baby will "cluster feed," meaning nurse very often (once an hour or more), helping you get ready to make the larger volume of milk they will require.
Why do women put breast milk in babies eyes?
No woman or mother should put breast milk in a baby's eyes! Myths and folklore often have NO basis in fact or medicine. Breast milk is meant only to be a nutrient. Every woman is different. There has been some cases as early as three weeks into pregnancy, as to some women never having a Linea Negra throughout their pregnancy. Linea Negra usually apperears during the second trimester, commonly around the fourth month. The Linea Negra has been puzzling the medical society for its true intention is not really known, but many say The line apperas due to higher hormonal levels and a lack of Folic Acid. Yes. Linea Negra can appear by a month or sooner. To note; Many women already have this faint line called the Linea Alba, so yes it's already there, although during pregnancy, it becomes darker as pregnancy progesses. Hope that helps...

my son is 6 yrs old now and i got pregnant recently......unfortunantly i had an early miscarriage..i was about 5 wks...i had the symptoms as i did with my first pregnancy...i craved chicken daily....and i grewtired easily...then my period was short in NOV....then i spotted at the end for a day...and in dec i missed my period....for 6 yrs i haven't felt any symptoms, and my line had been gone, and it disconnected from my belly button; meaning my line wasn't visiable or perceiding to my belly.....i looked atmy belly and that's when i noticed that the line had connected and it appeared the same small spark of a line above my belly button......i was sure then....a week later, i started having lower painful throbbing, numbs in my back...that didn't go away and lower penches in my pelvic area...i went to see the OBG and he noticed i stopped spotting and started bleeding heavly,,,but i had took a test and it was negative.....he gave me some pills to take and my periods stopped...then my symptoms....then in Jan iwas back on again, this time regular with no back pains.....except i started having stong stomach pains, i went to the bacthroom and had clotts...Suddenly, plop!!! a thick small sack came out it was slimemy, i was so shock i flushed before i can even realize it......my pains immediatly went away! SOMETHINGI NEVER EXPERIENCE BEFORE IN MY LIFE..AND WILL NEVER FORGET..i know i was pregnant or beginning to become ....because of the symptoms and the linea negra.
ALSO now my line is back to usual....its still connected.....however the small dark smuge that appeard above my belly button has dissapperd.....the miscarriage happend in Jan...the linea dissappeared in Feb.

No. Mucinex DM is not safe to take while pregnant. The plain Mucinex without the decongestant (DM) is safe to take.
The "DM" portion of the medication is not a decongestant. It stands for Dextromethorphan which is a cough suppressant...and which (in the form of Robitussin DM) is considered safe by many OB doctors.
Mucinex DM is safe during pregnancy. Had the same issue today actually. 12 weeks pregnant and unsure of what to take. Went to CVS without my cell so I couldn't call my OB. I asked the pharmacist and he said mucinex DM would be best. He recommended not taking anything with sudafed or phenylephrine in it, which rules out any type of Tylenol cold medicine. Mucinex DM is not a decongestant, its a cough suppressant. Mucinex D is the decongestant. If you're congested and coughing, take the Mucinex DM for the cough and a saline nasal spray for the congestion. Pharmacist recommended method.
