Unless it's a really expensive high end laptop, you're better off calling it a loss and buying a new one. It is probably so damaged that the cost to repair it is more than you could buy a new one for. purchase a new lcd screen usually between 50-100$. After receiving screen in the mail remove all screws holding the laptop lcd bezel together carefully pull the bezel apart and unscrew the lcd from the brackets. Then carefully unplug all wires ran to the screen. Using new screen do steps in reverse and voila working screen.

I'm located in Canada and for me I would definitely go to either Future Shop or Best Buy. Their sales staff is trained and understand the products they are selling whereas if you go to a department store you aren't getting someone who is knowledgable about that specific product.

I have a compaq laptop to, I forgot the password to it and it only has one user account thing. I haven't yet found out how to fix it but if I do I'll let you know:) and if u do will you please let me know also? Thanks..

You don't mention if this is the operating system user account, or boot up BIOS.

The operating system may require re-installing. You can recover data by removing the hard drive and putting it in a USB caddy then copy the data to another computer, before re-installing Op Sys.

You need to reset the BIOS. Depending on the model you will find this inside one of the covers underneath. The popular place is near, or underneath the memory chips. You will see two small gold pads. These contacts need to be connected for a couple of seconds, using tweezer tips or a wire link. Some models sometimes have a jumper link with three contacts. Move the link to the other position for a couple of seconds.

Failing that, find the back up Lithium battery and short the contacts briefly. (Not recommended as it may damage the battery, but is worth a try.)

If successful, the laptop will resort to default settings and prompt for the time and date to be re-entered. It will also have forgotten the password and allow free access.

No you cannot connect a TV to a laptop to use it as a charger or to gain electricity. The only thing that happens when you connect a Laptop to a TV is the TV copies what is happening on the laptop.

Anything electronic can be ruined underwater. Water damages the circuits and laptops can not only be deemed unusable but if they do work afterwords you would probably have water in the screen requiring you to take the screen out and dry it. Not doing so can fry your video connector, making the screen not work at all.

That's a really good price for a gaming console today. I have seen processors alone that sell for one thousand dollars but you are in luck. There is a guy i know that bought his PC for about that price and it plays some of the best games. He has a site under tribunalxhunter and also a youtube channel if you want to ask him.

on the back of my tv there is a plug like the one on the back of your laptop that you would plug a monitor into all you have to do is go to your local bestbuy/futureshop and get a double sided plug like the one on the end of a monitor plug one end into the tv and the other end into the laptop or you can use an old fashioned s-video cable but they dont work as well

I'm not sure what you mean by interchangeable, but if you mean can you take one laptop hard drive and put into another the answer would most likely be yes. Assuming they are both based upon the same board communication function. You can't interchange a sata HD with IDE. If they are both Sata or IDE then there is no problem. You can probably tell if they are sata or ide by going into the computers bios. (Settings function before your computer boots.) You can also purchase an adapter that will allow you to hook up your laptop hard drive to your desktop. Hope this helps -Brent

The easiest way to share a Lexmark P4350 is to reinstall the driver and select YES when asked "Do you want to share this printer".

If you are using Vista goto the network and sharing centre and enable printer sharing.
