If you have a Windows 7 laptop then download this program called "Connectify"

It enables your laptop to be used as a wireless router and you can connect devices such as game consoles (ps3, xbox etc.) to it and use internet from your laptop.

There are a few common keys between Alt and Ctrl on various Toshiba laptops. Most often this will be the Windows key, which is the same as hitting "Ctrl + Escape". Not sure, but I have this kinda medium sized one, that is light and and only costs like $30, but it's only a printer, not a scanner or photocopier. I got it at wal-mart and its a HP deskjet D2530. It works great with my laptop. Hope this helps.

If you have a wireless router it's very easy to do. But you will need one lan cable to connect the desktop to the router. Just connect the desktop to the router using the cable. Connect wirelessly both laptops to the router. Make sure that DHCP server is on. If it's not on you will have set up ip addresses manually.

If you have a switch you will need three lan cables (one per each computer). And you will have to set up all ip addresses wirelessly.

Without a switch or a router you can do it to but you still need a lan cable. You have to set up ip addresses manually and use the cable to connect one of laptops with the desktop.

PS: If you set up ip addresses manually all of them should be from the same subnet. For instance, first laptop has the ip address 192.168.1.1, second one 192.168.1.2, the desktop's ip address is 192.168.1.3

From my personal experience with the Latitude series by Dell, I can tell you straight up: Don't buy it. There are an outrageous number of bugs on the Latitude, even on my Windows 7 Latitude by Dell. To start off, over time if you leave your laptop on for a certain duration of time, I found that the USB would stop functioning. I made sure it wasn't just my laptop. According to about 6 of my other friends who have a Dell Latitude, they all have the exact same problem. Secondly, there is a horrible overheating problem with it. My problem was really bad, despite it having little memory usage taken up with 4 gigs of RAM, it managed to burn so bad that the area that the heat sink is at has completely burned up, and is bent from melting. And that's only some of the bugs. Straight up, don't buy a Latitude.

in my opinion its alienware it may be very expensive but you can probably play almost any game out there but usually i think the more expensive it is the less lag there is and the better games you can play

IMPORVED:

As the first answer says Alienware is a very good laptop. I have one and cost me about $1,500 or so. It's really fast and no games lag on it. I've even tested to play 3 high quality games, DC Universe, WoW, and LOTRO, at once and all three ran fine no lag in site. You can save lots of cash with Alienware if you buy from their site the cheapest laptop, not the flashy ones they sell, and upgrade it with better statistics. I went with the second lowest, M14x i believe, which was almost $1000 and put in a lot more RAM, best sound and video card, windows 7, and pre-installed games for the $1500 or so I payed. I do recimend it, though don't take the virus protection they give to save more and go for a free one like Avast. It's expensive, yes, but it's cheaper then buying a cheap laptop and fixing it up to work half as good. Alienware all the way for a good gaming laptop.

There's no button to turn of display, but there's a small software (85KB) that you can use and assign a key to it to turn off the display, it works perfect with me. follow the link to download it.

There is usually a function button combination that will switch the LCD off and external monitor on.

On an HP G6000 it is [Fn] + [F4]. Look for the monitor symbol on the F keys and press the Fn key with it.

1. Make sure that the WiFi can be detected by other devices

2. Make sure that your WiFi Chip is active. There will sometimes be a manual switch or a key combo you must press to toggle it. Also make sure that it is listed as "Enabled" under Network devices in Control Panel. If it is "Disabled," right-click on it and select "Enable"

3. Update your drivers. You can pay for a program to do this, or use a free one like Driver Booster. You can also use the free version of Driver Magician to find what driver you need. You can then search for it online. DO NOT get an "auto-detecting" package or "Driver pack" unless it is from the actual hardware provider.

If all else fails,

4. Get a new chip. You may be able to get an internal chip to replace your current one. This should be able to connect to the pair of internal WiFi antenna wires which connect to your old one. You can also get a USB chip (some are so small you will hardly notice they are even there) or, if your computer supports it you can get a PCMCI card (for a desktop computer, a PCI card) which may offer better speed or reception.
