What are the statistics of procrastination due to homework?
There are no statistics, but almost all students procrastinate every now and then. Students who make a habit of putting off doing their homework develop habits that can follow then the rest of their lives.
Notes should be as detailed as you feel they should be. The things you should note are the things that you feel are the most important.
Each number in the series is the sum of the preceding number and the number two numbers back from the preceding number.
Xn = Xn-1+Xn-3 where the number that started should be zero.
Thinking is what separates us from the animals, who only act on instinct. If you think, you can make better decisions, be happier and more successful, and become smarter.
Does reading for fun make you smarter?
Yes they do. lern the language(i did that purposely)
I absolutely love the first answer LOL! but I'll throw a little extra info in.
Reading for extended periods of time stimulates certain cognitive and creative centers of the brain and literally "exercises" them and to a far greater extent then watching TV ever would. Cognitive is "understanding" and creative is brainstorming. Having good cognitive and creative abilities lets you recognize and find solutions to problems in everyday life. The old term "use it or lose it" is true: to keep your muscles and mind sharp you must exercise them.
At least I think so, I could be wrong. The gist of it is that reading a good novel or even an interesting magazine will help keep you sharp.
Reading gives you insight into how other people live and think, so that you can use ideas you've gained in practical life. My example (which may be out there to some) is that, in reading about people who lived in sod houses with dirt floors, I discovered the way to prevent dust blowing while sweeping. Sprinkle water on the area before sweeping. Also, I never could have done the traveling in real life that I have while being in the time and place of the books I read. China, Africa, England and other places will never be the same old same old that the geography books present.
Addendum:There is scientific evidence to prove this. The School Sisters of Notre Dame have been the subject of a lengthy study (15+ years) on aging and Alzheimer's. The sisters have submitted to examinations and analysis of every aspect of their lives, including genetic testing and daily tracking of behavior and activities. One common factor found among all of the very high functioning elderly sisters is that they read voraciously. Not only does this seem to help stave off Alzheimer's, it has a direct relation to their ability to recall vast amounts of information. While reading may not be a cure for neurological diseases, it is definitely a preventative measure, with the added benefit of increase intelligence, or at least the information stored that the inate intelligence can bring to bear.
Is it possible to Excel in studies without a study group?
Yes, a person can excel in any subject without a study group besides a few. Social Studies requires a large portion of studying. Studying with a group has been said to be more interesting, therefor the student will be able to study more and remember the information better. There are also students to prefer to be alone when they study, and they can excel too.
Do you remember better if you read in morning or night?
Generally in the morning mainly because you are more alert.
How do you remember the names of countries?
There are a couple of ways.
Ways to remember the order of the planets?
there are many ways to learn the planets or better yet memorize them. The planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Saturn. Uranus, Neptune, and pluto. So what YOU have to do is make up a little saying, for instance, Mary Visits Emily Monday and Saturday Under Nicki's Porch. Therefore you can say the saying trying to memorize the planets and there meanings. Whenever you have to remember the saying just think of little sayings or think of a song, anything to help you know the planets. So I think that you should try something a little deifferent each time you have to memorize something like the planets. -elycia Williams-
What are some words to use when writing in chronological order?
You can number the sentences if you want to, but you usually don't. Numbering makes it into an outline instead of a paragraph. Just write the sentences down in the order in which they happened, and you will have a good chronological order!
How do you overcome stupidity?
Many people nowadays are going through the problem of stupidity. Stupidity isn't a disease but an unfavourable step that is taken (towards yourself mostly). It isn't an incurable problem. Infact IT ISN'T A PROBLEM!! Every person that has stepped into this world is stupid in some way or the other OR is stupid for SOMEONE or the other.
You cannot make the whole situation or every step in your life to be turned to how you want it to be neither can you please every other person that enters in your life.
SO! just sit back and relax!! do not strive to overcome it but to use it in a way that leads you towards success.
e.g if a bowler on the decisive bowl of the tournament bowls a yorker and the batsman hits a 6 on it THAT WOULD BE CONSIDER STUPID but if on the same ball the batsman isn't able to play THAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS SMART!
lyf z merely based on luck.. so blve in urself and do wht u want.. results will have to be faced if they r written in ur fate to b.. bt atleast enjoy the moment at the time :)
But yeah! either don't think n jst do it! watevr wud cum arnd.. it was meant to ;)
but if u wanna think then always remember 1 quotation
"Think a million times before you take a decision but once you do! stand by it like a man."
(Quaid-e-Azam)
For the rest of it.. GUDLUCK to all!! :)
What is the worst homework ever?
This depends on the individual and what subjects you are good and bad at. For me it was reading many many pages of literature and writing a multi page report on it! It was so boring to me! Other people struggle with math, history, or a number of many other subjects!
What does less productive mean?
Means that the subject (Factory or person) doesn't produce as much or work as hard as others
I am always studying. I study the world around me and learn new things every single day. Right now, I am studying internet radio and deciding what new groups to include - this is leading into a very interesting research trail about different kinds of music all over the world. Intelligent people never stop studying and learning.
Assuming the placement of each correct answer (i.e. a, b, c, or d) is random, the probability of answer B being correct will be 25% for each question, independent of each other (the placement of an answer on question 2 shouldn't depend on the placement in question 1 - again, assuming no bias of test author). Hence, on average, you should get 2.5 questions right out of 10 if you were to take the test an infinite number of times.
How can you concentrate on reading if it is noisy?

What has a greater influence on the student the family or the school?
The student is influenced by its family and school. I think both the family and school builds the student, makes its life. At school, students are influenced socially by their friends and intelectually by their teachers. Teachers play an important role by means of teaching them and introducing them into a whole new world of knowledge (although this only happens when the student is willing to learn). Their friends are the ones who will teach them how to deal with the people of their own age, it is with friends that a student builds a relationship, builds trust, builds communication skills, builds a perceptive of the world. At home, students are influenced my their parents, by their brothers/sisters or other family elements, and by the environment. Parents are the ones who raised them, educated them (besides the obvious, they were the ones who brought the student to the world). Of course, all parents want their sons/daughters to succeed at school and therefore they should try to create an adequate atmosphere at home for the enrichement of the student. At home I suppose students must feel comfortable to speak "how" they want to and expose their points of view, they must be loved and love, they must rest, they must spend time with themselves in order to discover more about the human being they are trying to become... Brothers/sisters have an influence because it is with them that students estabilish a more tighter relationship than with their friends (although most time it doesnt seem like). I think it is very very very important to have a good atmosphere at home since this is the place where students will spend a great deal of their time as young adults; it is also important to have a good relationship with the family, be at ease to talk. All in all, students are equally influenced by family and school although the type of influence is different. It is important that the student is exposed to all sorts of emotions and situations to build up into an experient adult, wise and smart. (this is an opinion not based on any scientific knowledge, it is just a meer opinion!)
Answer
This is a very good question. What ever a student does at school will affect what is going on in their personal life. What ever is happening in a students personal life, will inevitably affect what happens at the school. A student must learn the meaning of moderation and balance. I am a firm believer that a student needs to balance their time and focus. Students need time to be on campus attending classes, they need time for appropriate study (a lot), they need time to socialize with friends, they need time for family, and they need time just to be alone. The key is how they balance their activities. At times the scales get tipped, because of time requirements needed for each category, but all in all they can be balanced appropriately even though at times there will need to be a readjustment according to priority.
Now as to which category mentioned above has the greatest influence on the student is directly related to the student himself/herself. At a young age children can be influenced by a number of variables, however when that child turns into an adult, I believe that individual becomes responsible for what influences them. Now this latter statement can turn into a hot debate among people and groups, as to whether it is nature or nurture, (genetic, or environmental) or a combination of all of them. Still, I believe it will depend on where the students current passions lie, whether family led, school led, peer led, or self led. Not an easy answer to come up with huh?
Should homework be banned for kids to relax?
No, homework is an intergral part of the learning experience. It should not be banned, but here is a tip: Pay close attention in class and ask questions if there is something you do not understand. The more you learn in class, the easier your homework will often be and the more time you will have to relax.
