What are the Louisiana swamp people called?
A proper categorization is "Louisianian." However most Southerners refer to them as "those crazy Cajuns". The name is a shortening of Arcadian, and the original Arcadians were forcibly settled from Canada as I remember. The poem "Evangeline" commemorates the event. The name is actually Acadian, since their country was Acadia. The British forced the Acadians out of their homes and many ended up in Louisiana. It is now called Nova Scotia, part of Canada.

Describe how the us acquired Louisiana?
Louisiana was first claimed by the French. During the Seven Years' War between the French and the British, Louisiana was traded over from France to their ally, Spain, so the British would not acquire the territory if they won, which they did. After the Seven Years' War, France was basically booted out of the North American mainland by the British. The territory remained Spanish until Napoleon came to power, in which France then took the territory back in hopes of building an empire in North America. However, as time went by they saw that this wouldn't happen. France had hoped to use this land with their slave company in Haiti, in which the slaves would produce crops such as sugar or tobacco. Haiti's revolts ruined this plan and the French were stuck with a useless chunk of land. Here's where the US comes in. The US had its eyes on New Orleans, the major French trading post in Louisiana, which is still present today. The US went to France to purchase New Orleans and its surrounding land. France agreed but threw in a little bonus: the whole territory of Louisiana. The US agreed and paid a total of $11,250,000. The unintended purchase of Louisiana really kicked off the Manifest Destiny idea as well.

Why are graves above the ground in Louisiana?
I visited New Orleans on August 13, 2009 and did a tour of the city. Our tour guide told us that back in the day caskets used to be buried underground. However, since New Orleans is below sea level, the caskets would uproot from the ground and float down the streets during heavy rain / floods. They ending up in nearby parishes or many miles away, and with no labeling on the caskets it was difficult to find out where they belonged. As a result, the dead are now buried in above ground graves called mausoleums and appropriate labeling on the enclosure where the deceased is kept is required.

What is the legal process for kicking an adult child out of the house in New York City?
There is no need for "legal process" unless the person being asked to leave has a lease or is a part owner of the property. If the issue is parents wanting an adult child to leave their home, all that is needed is for the adult child to be told to do so. The adult child has the right to take all personal belongings and those items that they purchased or gifted. If an adult child refuses to leave voluntarily the parents may enlist the assistance of the local authorities (hopefully that would not be necessary).

How much do illegal aliens take out of taxpayers' paychecks?
Unfortunately, we do not have that statistic because people in the Federal Government are being very careful to NOT let it become an issue. Nobody is gathering statistics on illegal aliens, how often they go to a hospital for free medical service, how often the police have to haul them away for a free shower and sleepover at the local jail or any of the many other services that the illegals use that we, as taxpayers, get to pay for. Of course, that doesn't include the fact that many of our younger people are not getting paychecks because the illegals take all of the entry level jobs. Of course, the politicans claim that the illegals are only taking the jobs that nobody else wants. That isn't true. I know of several teens in my area who would LOVE to get a job flipping burgers, but those jobs are all taken by people who don't speak the language. Another statistic that isn't kept is how many traffic fatalities occur because illegals are driving drunk or otherwise impaired. They bring their contempt for law with them when they cross our borders at night and sneak into the country. If we feel that we need people to work the fields or other entry level jobs and truly feel that our own citizens can't do it, why not streamline the immigration process? We need to know who is in the country, what they are doing, what they drive, where they live and we need to collect taxes from them. Although a few illegals pay taxes to a fraudulent SS number, most are paid under the table.
